Application was easy and there was basically no cleanup needed. This is the perfect product to use in between salon visits. The only issue I had was getting the color under my nails when I scratched my head.

I have dark brown hair that is now graying and I have all-over color applied about every 6 weeks. My hair grows fast so I start seeing my grays before it's time to color again. This root cover touch-up spray is a perfect match for my hair color and is easily applied. The only slight downfall of this product is that it's a bit messy when applied. Just be careful of your bathroom countertops and anything close by that could accidentally get color on them. It is easily wiped away if you clean it right away. I love this product and will continue to use it frequently.

The black does match well however it can stain if you do not let it dry completely. The package is small for the price but overall a very good product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was already pretty skeptical of a product that could cover up the roots just by spraying it on the hair. I needed a quick fix for my daughter’s hair as she was going somewhere for the weekend and wanted roots covered. We tried this root touch-up spray on her black hair where gray roots are showing and I will say this product is a joke! We read the directions and followed it to an extract T. The smell wasn’t bad at all. My daughter said it felt really cold going on to her hair roots. I kept having to reapply in certain areas. It didn’t seem to be full coverage on the gray hair showing. Once finished she went to look in the mirror and told me “this isn’t what I expected and my hair feels just heavy, greasy and waxy.” She went to wash it out. She said it took 4 washes. Then tried to dry it only to realize it was still waxy, heavy, greasy and all the above with color coming off in her hand. She then used Dawn dish liquid as it cuts grease. Finally after the 5th washing it came out by 95%. This was just a huge disaster for us. It doesn’t work as a “touch up” and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

My hair bleaches out so much in the summer, so I used the dark blonde shade. It totally covered the gray, yet left the different tones of my hair intact! That really makes it look completely natural. I hope these photos depict the fact that the grays are covered, yet the natural color of my hair remains. I have tried different root cover-ups and they tend to look fake and unnatural. This is the only product I will use to cover my roots!

The packaging is sleek and shaped like a traditional hairspray, which I liked. The color matched my hair perfectly—definitely one of the highlights for me. However, I’m giving it 4 stars because of the nozzle. While it does a good job covering grays, the spray can splatter if you’re not careful or press too hard. I consulted my daughter, I always trust my teenager's judgment when it comes to getting an honest opinion LOL, and she suggested the dark brunette.
