[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Would I recommend this for some who want to do a setup at home without a salon I say go for it. Easy to clean after use. The battery maintenance is a plus especially when new to the product itself. Its durability will last you a long time as long as you read the manual and follow how to do the cleaning process. Yes you might have to do a touch up later but definitely worthwhile to try. Went from gray to slay!

Great product, but some gray remained
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So there is a LOT to love with L’Oreal’s Colorsonic wand. It’s packaged very well and extremely easy to use. They include very descriptive instructions as well as a step-by-step video series that walks you through every step of coloring your hair. It’s easy to assemble, easy to clean, and one cartridge colored my very long hair! I was skeptical at first. Why would I need this wand when I’ve been coloring my hair hair for years? Well, let me tell you, this was my easiest and least smelly experience coloring my hair that I can remember. There was no dripping. No mess. The color went on smoothly too. I was surprised that the dye wasn’t as thick as I was used to, but it saturated well. And lightened my natural hair color just a bit too. So why only four stars you ask? I was slightly disappointed in the gray coverage I got from this product. After dying, you can still see the gray lines. The rest of my hair turned out beautifully, the color is rich and vibrant. If I didn’t have such strong gray presence, this would easily be a 5 star product.

Not without flaws.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Photos are during and afterwards. The dye itself is very nice, the color is pretty and it mixes well inside the device. The device, however, isn't without flaws. Before I started coloring the device appeared to be fully charged. I began, got my roots almost done and the battery showed red, completely dead. Battery took a half hour to recharge to begin again. The directions explicitly say not to oversaturate, BUT I didn't get enough coverage on my grays....in fact, I'd say next to none (see photo). Now I'm contemplating attempting just a root "touch up" to try to cover the hairs that the machine glossed right over. I'm not sure this device is meant for someone with hair like mine. Its also worth noting that I ran out of color before my length was anywhere near finished. Despite L'Oreal suggesting one cartridge is enough, it would say if you ever use 2 boxes of dye, you will almost certainly need 2 cartridges. At least 1 and a half or so. I do not feel the device is worth the cost, unfortunately.

Good concept but just didn't do it for me.

My experience was that it dispensed the developer only, no color came out. Also about half way through my session it notified me that I was out of product, and I had only gotten to my roots at that point. I will be giving it another shot but I am not expecting great results.

With the tool & adapters the device glided from root to tip smoothly & evenly with color. This made my process much simpler & less clean up than using a bowl & brush. The cartridge was simple to dispose when done & I can use the device again once I replace the cartridge.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a really interesting beauty gadget to try... It is like a big hair brush that dispenses product, and it's a lot easier and more intuitive to use than traditional at home dye. Hard to get pics from my back since I don't have anyone to be my photographer for me. But to be honest it was hard to understand how to use it the first time, even with the video instructions. You have to waste a lot of product just to get thing running. Another annoying thing is that there is no way to know how much dye is left in the refill. I only have point bleaching on my hair, so I don't need a lot of dye, but if you're using it for dying white and gray hair (the main audience I think) then it gets expensive and annoying. Maybe if they can improve the design of the refills, it's better. It's cool that it is usb c recharging, so the machine itself can last a while, but I don't know if this product will catch on enough for it to still be useful in 5, 10 years. I really hope it's not just a piece of Ewaste in my house by then.

Great for my thick long hair
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok.....so this took some getting comfortable with. I have long and thick hair so I was extra excited to try this because I dread coloring my hair and usually only dye the top because of how long it takes. Once I got used to using this, it was super easy to use. At first I made a mess but quickly learned how to properly hold it and run it through my hair. I had to use both cartridges and had a small amount left in the second cartridge. The color cartridges are easy to install and replace. The machine itself was easy to clean up after when I was done. It goes in my drawer with my other hair tools. Will definitely be using this again. I already put some replacement cartridges on my subscription order so I can do a touch up in a few weeks. Price is fair but it is more expensive than a big dye but the ease of coloring through all the layers of my hair makes it worth it for me. I only missed a few spots but you can see in my hair picture that it did a pretty good job and the color looks uniform.

Probably a good tool for a beginner
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok so I am a person who dyes my hair often, so the process itself has gotten easier over time with general learning. For me, the *idea* of this product is cool - I think it is pretty innovative and makes dying your hair efficiently & evenly easier for your average person doing it at home. It could probably help for people that have a hard time using both arms in the process, and I like that the bristles move to disperse product more. For me personally, I don’t know that it’s worth the investment, just because it limits your brand/color options, and I feel that I can do a pretty good job myself without it. Soooo yes, I think this could be a great product for some! But for me, it’s probably not something I will use. (It was easy enough to use with directions - it does feel a bit bulky though).

Works well with a learning curve
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very innovative device and a huge upgrade for coloring hair at home. There's a bit of a learning curve but the videos are very helpful. Setup and cleanup are easy. I like that all of the parts are washable and reusable. The color cartridge is cardboard so it is recyclable. The color matches my natural color well. Overall, I'm happy with the results. I'll still go to the salon but the Colorsonic will allow me to go less often.

Making at home color, easier
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Okay first off, I have some complaints. The cartridge had trouble going in all the way and made it difficult to get it to completely shut and register it needed to mix. The device itself after I figured that all was pretty good. It wasn't to heavy to use and the battery lasted the whole time I was using it. I used about half the battery life. Its definitely a pretty mess free application. I didnt get it everywhere like I normally do which was really nice. Now for the dye, its not great. It didn't stick to some parts of the hair and it smelled horrible. I do think I will be trying it again though.

Easy! No more sectioning!

It cut down the time it takes to apply by combing the hair, rather than having to section each piece which I appreciated. It took no time at all to set up and even has a self-cleaning function. I did go through 2 cartridges for my medium length hair, but I was super impressed with coverage & color outcome!

Easy to color all hair if you have short hair
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was a little confusing to use at first, like how to set up, and start it. Then I got the hang of it and was pretty easy to use and fast to color all my short hair, but a little too messy. It kept dripping everywhere. I will keep using it until I use my other hair dye, but I probably won't reach for it much afterwards. The color I got didn't do much to my hair and that cause I left it way longer than instructions.
