Have been using the black lid can for years and loved it. The white lid can, sold currently, is a totally different and inferior product. The new product is wet and heavy. When comparing ingredients I see water has been added to the ingredients list. I'm guessing this was done to meet new VOC standards. Please send your chemists back to the drawing board.

I have been using this product for years. The new formula is horrible. It somehow enhances frizz during humid weather and stays tacky. Also not a fan of the new fragrance. Very disappointing as I really liked the soft, touchable hold of the previous formula.

Used this hairspray exclusively in high school because it was top tier for decades and I loved the vintage scent. It used to hold hair in place like glue without looking crunchy. The new formula sucks. I may as well not even use hairspray. It gives as much hold as a salt spray. The scent is now very perfumed. While it’s not a bad smell, I miss the original. And the new formula (as mentioned) leaves much to be desired. After a few uses, I went out and bought a different type of hairspray. I hate to waste a nearly full can, but this stuff is useless.

You have ruined a great and legendary hairspray. I’ve used Elnett for 3 decades and nothing compares. This new version with its musty, cheap smell is appalling. Whoever in your product department made the decision to change the iconic Elnett hairspray, should be fired.
Skip it, the new formula is trash.

Why did you change this product?! I have used the original extra strong hold for years. It was amazing. It saved my hairstyle day after day. It was more expensive than any hairspray I had ever used., but it was worth it. I can’t justify wasting my money on this new version again. Looking for a new product.

The smell is so strong and pungent. Smells like an older lady fresh out of the salon… the unscented is better, but even then it’s not entirely unscented

I have been using this product for many years. Not only is the new fragrance repulsive, but the overall performance of the product doesn't compare to the original version. Frankly, the new version is not worthy of a 1-star review. Please bring back the old Elnett hairspray that we know & love!!!

Disappointed with the new smell as well as the hold of the new version. With the new update my hair gets frizzier and I have to use more spray to try to do the job. Definitely preferred the previous scent. Please bring the old version back!

I have used Elnett for probably close to 20 years. It used to be the stuff of legend. Only available in Europe for a long time. Smuggled back in to the US by those “in the know”. Written about in all the top magazines as “The Best” hairspray. And it was. Until now. Absolutely horrendous “new” fragrance. Smells like gas station bathroom air freshener mixed with cotton candy. Lingers. Will have to wash my hair to remove this awful scent. If you have ANY standards whatsoever for fragrance, give this a pass. Waste of money now. Just terrible. Absolutely disappointed that L’Oreal would take a legendary product and bow to what they think the masses like to smell like. Ugh.
