Simply Amazing!

One of my best Lego experiences to date, and the set I have to credit with getting me back into building! Aside from the sheer elegance of the 747 and Lego's impressively realistic replication of the design, I was blown away by the number of play or display options that come with this set. The operational landing gear, similar to the mechanism used in the Concorde set, was especially impressive, as well as the way the two wings are mounted to the fuselage of the aircraft. And, while symmetrical, at no point did the build feel boring or monotonous. Without a doubt another great space themed set, hoping to see more airplane-focused sets in the future!
Design correction of a mostly good idea

This design was good except the stabilizers were too big so I corrected this by taking them off the plane and reducing the size before remounting them. The stand is also hard to use when it is mounted on a low surface like a coffee table as it's hard to do the proper alignment by feel.

Fun build. Landing gear on 747 not as robust as I would have thought.

The bad news is that my set was missing a piece. Luckily it was under the belly of the plane. Otherwise, the build was fun and the results are amazing.

I Love This Set, When I Heard The News About This Set Being Made,I Instantly Fell In Love With It. I Was Finally Able To Buy It After Saving My Money For A Couple Of Months (1 or 2 Months) And It Is Well Worth The Wait. I Previously Had Purchased The Lego Icons Concorde and Back then it was the only humongous Lego Airplane Set From the Icons Series. This Looks Amazing On My Shelf With The Concorde!!! I Love This Plane! Before This Set Was Released Everyone (at least lego plane enthusiasts) was waiting for Lego To release a new Icons Plane Set but I didn’t expect it to be a 747, but it is! I love The Build! For Someone Like Me, I Could Get This Built in around 6-7 hours( im not sure though because i didn’t time it) but The Finished Project is Awesome! The feeling when you place the last piece on the set is very Exciting and happy! The Nose Is A Bit Stubby On The 747 But That’s not really a Concern. It’s Tied With The Concorde For My Favorite Set Ever Released By Lego! I Would Highly Recommend This to anyone that is A Aviation Enthusiast because All throughout the sets instructions are these little fun facts that are actually really interesting and informative! Another Cool Thing You Can Do Is Store The Space Shuttle’s Landing Gears and Engine Inside The Shuttle’s Cargo Bay, Which Does In-Fact Open Like The Real Thing! This Is An Amazing Set And A Beautiful Aircraft, The Plane Weights Around 2-3 pounds (i think, correct me if i’m wrong) But It’s Just Such A Good Set! I Am Very Happy With This Set And I Hope This Review Helps People To Understand How Good Of A Set This Is

I found this to a fun build. Not as difficult as I expected. The finished product is a little less refined but I knew that from other reviews. All in all, I would recommend this build to an intermediate level builder with a little time on their hands.

I bought this to put together with my son. The instructions were easy to read and the parts were packaged in a logical manner. There were parts of the instructions that had factual information about the project. Fun and educational!

nice build but way to many buttons on the wings and elsewhere, could have been a lot smoother. I will try to cover these with smooth flat pieces.
I think the title is just what it needs to be.

I actually bought this for my husband who worked on a NASA contract for several years. Because we live in Huntsville, AL the shuttle is here at the Space and Rocket Museum and of historical importance to Huntsvillians. Love the set because it's part of our space program history.
