Best Build
This is the best build ever. Detail was absolutely incredible. Engine room, kitchen, sleeping quarters, cocktail lounge with bandstand, dinning room, toilet, pilot house. Working paddle wheel, gangplanks, anchor, rudder, removable sections to view all the details. Only complaint is the base stand.

Steam boat up in smoke
Gday, Great display piece. Looks great on the shelf. Play features are lost on this build. All the interior (which looks great by the way), is lost on having to pull layers off to see. This set would be 100% better if you could swing a wall open and look inside without pulling layers off this beautiful cake. it's a reasonably good build experience and looks great sitting on the shelf, no minifigs and the difficult steps it takes to look inside at the other half of the set let's this one down. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket then grab it, if your on a budget then maybe there are better sets for you to purchase.

Steamboat
I absolutely loved building this steamboat, the detail inside with the music room and instruments was amazing, and beds and kitchen, it was easy to follow and no tricky bits, getting the ticket box was a bonus to finish it off, well done Lego nice piece would definitely recommend to get.

Overall good, with issues
Overall, this is a beautiful display piece. It really looks great. But, while there are "play" features to it, like the geared paddle wheel, it is in no way suitable for play. The rudder is only attached by a single stud, and is insanely easy to knock off, and pain to re-attach once the paddle-wheel is in place. The upper levels cannot be detached to see the interior without taking apart the boarding ramp rigging. As a display piece this model really, really, would benefit from a light kit. Without it, much of it is shadowed and detail is lost.

Thank you for sharing your building experience and your review on your set! We would suggest double checking your build around the rudder as there may be a piece slightly off from where it is meant to be and to make sure all pieces are tightly pressed together to make sure the rudder stays in place. You should also be able to access the upper level by detaching the top piece without needing to remove the pieces that the boarding ramp rigging is attached to/sitting on top of. Please reach out to us at LEGO.build/Service-BV so we can help troubleshoot and get your River Steamboat cruising!

Live in the Mississippi River.
Knew I needed it the second it was announced. I see plenty of river boars all summer. Really fun boat. Really fun build. Has as much detail as the Icons buildings.

worst lego build ever
This set has too many small parts that attach with just one button. Touch it the wrong way and it falls to bits. Really needs glued!

Not the glue! If pieces aren't staying together and rebuilding doesn't help, please get in touch with us at LEGO.build/Service-BV so we can get more details and lend a hand with your build.

Gorgeous Set
I have always loved Lego and recently was able to start getting into building them. I would say this is my most challenging build so far, but one I loved every step of the way. It was fun and so many hidden little details made it even more special.

Disaster
I love the set but the build experience was haunted due to the gearbox piece being extremely warped and taking 2-3 weeks to arrive! It is a great set though.

Oh no! It's disappointing when your build isn’t going as planned. We're glad you got in touch to let us know!

Didn’t miss a detail!
I bought this set because I had a long weekend and it’d been awhile since I’d built a Lego. I’ve always enjoyed sets scaled for mini-figs and thought it looked like a fun build. I’ll just say, I couldn’t have been more impressed! From start to finish it’s so cool to watch each layer of the steamboat come together with the astounding level of detail for each level. At the end when you don’t know how there could possibly be more, you begin adding things you didn’t even think about, but things that make sense for a river steamboat. I’d highly recommend this set—also is HUGE and looks great on display.
