With the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock Gen 2 from Lenovo, you can connect a variety of peripherals directly to your ThinkPad laptop and other USB Type-C/Thunderbolt 3 enabled devices. This dock connects to your compatible host system using a Thunderbolt 3 port, and is built with a variety of other video inputs, including two HDMI outputs and two DisplayPort outputs that support up to three Ultra HD 4K displays.
Accompanying the video inputs, you will find a single Thunderbolt 3 port that supports the 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 standard. If that's not enough, this dock comes equipped with five 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports, one of which supports always-on charging.

Work station essential

Display and Ethernet instability
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have two ThinkVision P27u-10 displays connected to my P15 Gen 2 ThinkPad and the displays randomly go blank every 1-2 hours. Occasionally, the displays can completely glitch (static and/or wavy rendering) and I have to reboot my ThinkPad to get back to a working state. I had to move my Ethernet cable from the dock to the ThinkPad because it was very unstable. When sharing my desktop and demoing applications over Teams, the connection would drop randomly. Not a good experience! I like the idea of the dock but having to move my connections back to the laptop defeats the purpose. I hope this gets resolved by a firmware update sometime soon.

Glitchy
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Very pleased to finally get multi display capability but it has been very glitchy. I lose one screen at a time a few times a day and have lost all displays a few times requiring a remote restart.

The form factor is excellent and looks good sitting on a desk. Currently using with an X1 Carbon and 2 additional monitors.

Good but with annoying display issues
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Only had the dock for a couple of weeks. I have two external monitors attached. All working great, except the two external monitors keep going blank for 1 or 2 second periods. This happens sporadically and during usage of a 10 hour shift I estimate that the left monitor went blank about 15 times and the right monitor about 8 times. On 2 or 3 occasions, one or the other monitor goes all staticky (as if experiencing some sort of interference). These issues are not critical, but still annoying.

Versatile and sleek dock

It has ample amounts of USB ports and all other outlets as well. It is small and sleek, so it doesn't take up space on the desk. Very versatile unit, an investment piece that is well worth it.
