worth the hype
This is a great lipstick formula. First off, it smells like marshmallow fluff! Seriously though, it applies smoothly with hardly any tug and doesn't dry out your lips too much. (however, I still recommend putting on a bit of lip balm before applying or topping the lipstick with a tinted balm/treatment.) My fav everyday shade is "Folio", a very cool-toned grey nude shade (I'm a goth), paired with Morphe Signature Lip Pencil in "Rock Steady" (great affordable alternative to MAC "Greige".

Not smooth to apply
This lip liner doesn't glide when applying. It very dry and hard to apply. Not happy with it.

LOVE THIS PRODUCT
I wore this out tonight to shopping then later to the club and filled it in with two shades lighter lipstick and got soooo many compliments! It lasted long and I didn't wipe off till I went home! Lasted a whole 8 hours no smudges! I love the color! I received this product for free from MAC for testing and review purposes.

New formula: drying as sandpaper and doesn't last
I used to ADORE your previous matte lipstick formula - it was one of the rare matte formulas that was matte, stayed on, and didn't dry my lips. The new formula feels like sandpaper and disappears in 30mn. I will never understand why companies change winning formulas.

Why
The shade is different. Go Retro is now more purple ? darker and not at all what it used to be. It's also more drying and matte than silky. Bring back the original!! also fix the font it's confusing

Favorite longwear lipstick
The matte one specifically is really good for a longwear lipstick. It's not sticky and it doesn't crack or dry my lips. It does wear from the middle over time, so I wouldn't expect to out this on in the morning and never reapply, but it holds up very well! For me, I'd rather have this problem than a liquid longwear that flakes or chaps my lips.

I've definitely found my new favorite lipstick! I purchased the color velvet teddy, and was instantly in love with the color! the formula however? GAME CHANGER! it is GORGEOUS and blurring on the lips, but has a gorgeous sheen to it. I wore it for the first time tonight, and it stood up to a lobster and crab feast for dinner and DIDNT BUDGE! I went to the bathroom after I finished eating to re-apply my lip, and was so surprised that I didn't have to. can't wait to get more colors!!!
