Worst hair dye I've ever used

I know this brand is many peoples go-to so I had high hopes for it. I had my hair lightened to a very light brown and my hair turned out pink instead of the red I was hoping for. I don't mean reddish pink, it's a very pink pink which is really disappointing. On top of that it stained literally everything it came into contact with, my skin, my shower everything. I have never used a hair dye that has stained everything this bad. It's was also just way to pricey for the small bottle you get. I have gotten way bigger bottles for half the price of this. It's honestly ridiculous. Not worth it and will not be buying in the future.

Hi Lily, one of our color experts would love to help problem solve why the color didn't work in your hair. For best results with Manic Panic hair color, we recommend pre-lightening your hair first to a pale blonde-level 9 or higher. This will not only help the color show up as vibrantly as it should, but it will also help hold the color in your hair properly. If the dye is continuing to bleed, this could be due to the cuticle still being open or there's excess dye left in the hair from not rinsing completely after dyeing. We suggest doing a white vinegar rinse immediately after to seal the color followed by a deep conditioning treatment. Please email us at customerservice@manicpanic.com we would love to help!

Stained absolutely everything - I’ve been dying my hair red for about 2 years now, so I know what to expect as far as normal hair dye bleeding, but this was insane. It’s now two days later from when I used the dye and my face and neck are still bright pink after washing and rewashing both my hair and those spots repeatedly, using everything from dish soap, baking powder, makeup remover and rubbing alcohol to try to remove the stains all over my skin. That’s not even mentioning my ruined blanket and bathroom walls.

If the dye is continuing to bleed, this could be due to the cuticle still being open or there's excess dye left in the hair from not rinsing completely after dyeing. We suggest doing a white vinegar rinse immediately after to seal the color followed by a deep conditioning treatment also. Here are some tips for removing color from the skin: · Use Manic Panic Dye Away hair color removing wipes · Rub Toothpaste on the stain with a toothbrush and watch it disappear. · Mix equal parts of baking soda and dish soap, rub on the stain with a toothbrush or fingers · Rub Dawn Dish Soap on with a sponge *Try to stay away from rubbing alcohol because it can dry out the skin but if you don’t have a choice just apply a small amount to a cotton ball and dab on. Make sure to apply lotion afterwards. I hope this information is helpful, please let us know if you need help with anything

Careful With This

Great Color But Will Stain Everything. I Was Very Careful To Apply It On My Hair And Was Swift To Clean Up Everything. However, In The Process Of Rinsing My Hair It Stained Absolutely Everything It Came Into Contact With. I Have Dyed My Hair Many Times With Demi-Permanent Hair Color.and It Has Never Stained As Badly As This. My Bathroom Looked Like Highlighter Pink And My Hands Are Stained Too. It's Such A Shame Because The Color Is Actually Nice.

Hi Michelle! Pillarbox Red is one of our strongest pigments. Because of this, we recommend using the dye very, very sparingly. Extra precaution is needed to avoid excess bleeding. Since it sounds like you've got much too much of the pigment in your hair already, I would suggest trying to seal the color into your hair with what is called a vinegar rinse: 1. Rinse your hair under warm water until it runs completely clear. 2. Saturate your hair with a mixture of equal parts of white vinegar and cool water. Let this mixture sit in your hair for 3-5 minutes. 3. Rinse completely again until the water runs clear. 4. Apply a thick hair conditioner as directed. Rinse again using cool water. 5. Towel dry excess water from hair and then blow dry hair completely. For any further help or questions contact via email customercare@manicpanic.com

Manic Panic hair colors can stain anything that is porous (just like your hair!) so it is best to cover your work area with plastic bags, plastic wrap, tin foil, newspaper, etc. to ensure you do not get any unwanted staining on your home surfaces. Always rinse your hair under a faucet and away from your face. We do not recommend rinsing your freshly colored hair in the shower, as this can cause the color to splatter and stain your shower walls & tub. Some bathroom surfaces are more porous than others. If you do get some hair color on anything, here are a few tricks to get it out: Mr. Clean Magic Erasers live up to their name! Just rub the area with a dampened one and watch the stain disappear. Bleach or bleach-based cleaning sprays, rub toothpaste with a rag or old toothbrush in circular motions with a little warm water, or mix equal parts of baking soda and liquid dish soap into a paste. For any questions or tips, please contact us customercare@manicpanic.com anytime!

We appreciate your feedback! We recommend flipping the bottle onto its top for a bit after squeezing most of the product into a mixing bowl to let the remainder settle down so that it can be dispensed

Product works really well. It was used on red hair so it came out more real than blue, but still good coloring. Does stain skin and surfaces. Took a couple washes to get off of skin and used bleach to get off of hard surfaces.

I got this to dye over my medium brown hair without bleaching it beforehand. I got a nice dark blue/teal tone out of it. It bleeds when wet, which makes sense for the price point, but overall I’m very satisfied.

Do not waste your money, very hard to spread, stains everything and fades within a week. You'll have a better bet with Ion or Arctic Fox

I love it! As you wash it it starts looking like a green teal, and I love the fact how it’s not made with harsh chemicals! The stains in the sink and tub easily wash off too!
