Q: This is okay to use on virgin hair? I’ve never bleached my hair before.

A: Yes, it's generally okay to use semi-permanent hair color on virgin hair, but it may not last as long as it would on previously colored or processed hair. Semi-permanent dyes work by coating the hair shaft and don't penetrate the cuticle as deeply as permanent dyes, so the color may fade faster on virgin hair.

Q: Do you have to bleach your hair to do this? If so is the bleach permanent or bad for your hair? If my hair is darker that the medium blonde will it still turn out okay?

A: Hello Run, Yes, you will have to bleach your hair to a pale blond. If you have medium blonde hair you will need to bleach it about three more level higher to achieve best results. If you leave you hair at medium blond the result will be different than on the box.

Q: How long does the dye last? How many washes until it starts to fade?

A: Our dyes are Semi-permanents dyes, which is identified on the box, with that said the fade out time period /process varies from person to person based on hair texture, density and porosity. Industry standard wise Semi-permanents last 4-6 weeks and also varies depending on how often the hair is washed. The more the hair is washed the faster/more will fade, using a clarifying shampoo can also help. You can still have color left in the hair after the 30 washes or 4-6 weeks due to the high pigment load and depending on how long the color was processed. Hope that helps.

Teal
complimentary from SplatHairColor. This teal is such a fun color. Love that this comes with bleach, which helps for me to get the teal color in my dark hair a lot easier. Does help if you have second person (in my case my husband) to put the dye in so that you know it goes on evenly.

Love the silver

Got to have really light blond for this to work well
This set is so easy to use! The instructions are clear, easy to understand and makes it very difficult to mess up. If your hair is dark, you may need multiple bleach sessions to get the light blond required to get a silver like the box shows. Gifted by Splat Hair Color.

Great
I used Splat Tantalizing Teal, and the color came out super bold and eye-catching. It gave me that rich, vibrant teal I was hoping for, with a really nice mix of blue and green tones. Application was a little messy—as expected with Splat—but the end result made it worth it. The color held up well and faded evenly instead of looking blotchy. It didn't work at all
My hair was blonde, so I only used the dye but it didn't change my hair to silver

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Splat Sinful Silver hair. We're sorry to hear that you didn't achieve the silver results you were hoping for on your blonde hair. Achieving a true silver or gray color can be tricky because your hair generally needs to be lightened to a very specific pale, white-blonde stage (level 10) before applying the silver color. If the hair still had underlying yellow or gold tones, the silver dye acts more like a toner and the result can be unpredictable, sometimes appearing a different shade or not showing up at all.

I won't get again
Had someone else put it in my face become blue it made my face look like a blue berry, hours after it was dried it was getting on my skin, furniture, pillows and my hands when I them though my hair. Great color though

great if you want black hair
I had stripped all color from my hair so it became this light coppery brown. it wasn't a dark brown at all. my hair is black and my floor is purple. don't reccomend for anyone that doesn't have blonde hair

Your hair likely turned black because the copper-brown tones absorbed too much of the purple dye, or the purple was not a light enough shade for your dark base color. This happens because the darker and more porous your hair is, the more pigment it soaks up, and the copper-brown base can also cancel out the purple tones. Purple is a cool tone, and copper is a warm tone. When mixed, the underlying warm orange/copper pigments can cancel out the cool purple, leading to a darker, muddy color that appears black. Not the green
Ive been dying my hair for years and have never encountered a problem, I today bought the midnight jade splat hair dye to and somehow my hair is a bold blue and not green.

Love the color on the box but didn't really get it
My hair turned more of a Shamrock green at the top where I was a little warmer blonde and turned more of a navy blue towards the bottom where I was actually a really light blonde so definitely not the jade green from the box Not an ugly outcome just not what I was expecting

40/60 that I'd buy it again
I typically use this product with clients who want a permanent dye However I wish they had more shade options and colours in general As most options are quite ugly. Like give me ACTUAL neon pls
