  • A: Yes, it's generally okay to use semi-permanent hair color on virgin hair, but it may not last as long as it would on previously colored or processed hair. Semi-permanent dyes work by coating the hair shaft and don't penetrate the cuticle as deeply as permanent dyes, so the color may fade faster on virgin hair.

  • A: Hello Run, Yes, you will have to bleach your hair to a pale blond. If you have medium blonde hair you will need to bleach it about three more level higher to achieve best results. If you leave you hair at medium blond the result will be different than on the box.

  • A: Our dyes are Semi-permanents dyes, which is identified on the box, with that said the fade out time period /process varies from person to person based on hair texture, density and porosity. Industry standard wise Semi-permanents last 4-6 weeks and also varies depending on how often the hair is washed. The more the hair is washed the faster/more will fade, using a clarifying shampoo can also help. You can still have color left in the hair after the 30 washes or 4-6 weeks due to the high pigment load and depending on how long the color was processed. Hope that helps.

    Best hair color the world over!!!

    I have been using Splat Pink Fetish since i discovered that my actual color was in fact Pink Fetish. I have been getting assistance with achieving my actual color from Splat since 2020. I LOVE this product. There's only 2 things I would love to see change about this wonderful product....first, I would love to be able to buy only 1 box of color. Since it's have hair down to my hips, that would mean doubling the size of the pink in the box. I also use either Blue Envy or Lusty Lavender on the bottom part of my hair, effectively doing the hombre look. The second thing I would love to see change is getting back to the easily obtained Splat color lineup. Im trying to find it in a brick and mortar store, because I am a couple months behind my regular coloring schedule. I spent a couple hours so far trying to find a place I can go buy it from, but I dont seem to be having much luck. I am tenacious though, and I will persevere. Keep up the great work Splat!

    ts is NOT semi permanent!! literally won’tcome out

    do NOT buy the pink one if you’re looking for semi permanent color!!!! I used the color pink fetish on my virgin, undamaged hair and it literally will not come out no matter what i do. i only reapplied once while i had this color and it’s been 2 months since my last application. over the past 2 months, i have washed it in hot water with non color safe shampoo dozens of times, gone it the pool several times, used color remover on it, and bleached it and it’s STILL HOT PINK!!! it’s lightened by a few shades, but i honestly feel like that’s made the color brighter and it’s way to bright for me to put any other light/vivid color over it. please help me i’m so tired of this hair color.

Direct dyes do not require oxidation or developer for the color to stain the hair. In areas where the hair is more porous, this type of color will show greater intensity. Caution must be exercised when utilizing a semi-permanent hair color on porous hair; it can stain the hair permanently. Sometimes, using strong bleaches will make the direct dye go further into the hair shaft and lodge even more stubbornly inside the hair. There are ways to strategically fade or remove the direct dye from the hair.

    TERRIBLE!! WONT COME OUT, MISLEADING DONT BUY

    This product is terrible, they are lying about the fact that it comes out after 30 washes. It has been in my hair for so long. I did this over the summer for fun and I am starting school soon. I go to a private school and it doesn’t allow this!! Ive tried everything, bleach, dying my hair blonde again, and it still won’t come out! I might have to shave my head or cut it off! I used bleach to try to get it off and my hair is now orange! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

    Fabulous Color!

    I have used this color for the last 10 years when coloring my hair. I'm amazed that it doesn't have 5 stars. The color is amazing and I get compliments almost every day that I am around public. I give this color a 100/10.

    Color not worth the hassle

    Terrible product. For being a semi-permanent color, it stains everything! It stains your skin, your clothes, your counter tops, bath tiles..it stains your hopes and dreams, i wouldn't be surprised if my pubes were colored after this fiasco. And the results weren't even worth it. I got this because the Got2b color wasn't available where I was at. It was my worst mistake. I had to use COMET w/ bleach on my SKIN to get the color off. And then when I started rinsing the hair color off, my hands came out all died again. And its not cause I'm messy, the formula is very "liquidy" and those drops will go a long way. I tried to wipe them off and it would spread to hell. I was extremely disappointed. The gloves are a very short. They barely make it to your wrist and they're cheap. My hair color came out dull and now I have two sets of unused bleach as well. I would have rather had some after color treatment after the disrespect of this dye. It does say, it will stain, but being semi-permanent i didn't expect it to be this intense. My scalp is stained worse than any other permanent color I've tried. Thankfully I did take precautions and put vaseline all over my face and neck. i tried covering my countertops as well, but I'm telling you, that formula is not easy to handle. Definitely not beginner friendly. 10/10 wouldn't buy again.

    Terrible

    This hair dye completely dyed my bathtub from just washing it out,my bed,my car seat,my scalp,my skin my finger nails,my walls!! Nothing will get this dye out unless you're stripping paint!!

    wrong color

    I don't know how long it'll last but it's the wrong color, I used the bleach and it turned out to be more of a fuchsia/dark pink then purple

    Don’t buy!

    I bought and applied three weeks ago to add color highlights. It’s awful!! The color is constantly running onto the neck of my clothes, onto my pillow when I sleep and on my skin especially neck. This is the only color product brand this has happened. I’ll never buy your brand again!

    Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate our customer's input. In order to stop all the bleeding and staining we recommend that you do a really good rinse with cooler water, rinse the hair until the water runs clear, shampoo the hair really good making sure all excess color is being shampooed out, rinse again with cooler water until the water runs clear, apply conditioner allowing it to set for a few minutes then do the last final rinse with cooler water until the water runs clear. Splat is a semi-permanent color / direct dye and these types of dyes just coat the hair meaning they sit on the hair shaft and don't really penetrate unless the hair is very porous.

    Great for beginners!

    Proceed with caution

    I bought this product for over the summer to just change up my look, 1. It stained EVERYTHING 2. It said semi permanent and the one I chose was 30 days lasting but it ended up lasting for 9 months, keep in mind I washed my hair every other day 3. I eventually tried to dye my hair back to brown and the color was still so stained on my hair that after attempting to dye it brown it turned out red, so if you want a extremely staining and super long lasting product then I guess this is for you

    I always dye my pony with Splat

    This is my go-to brand for my pony. First off, this stuff lasts forever. I mean it. Through washes, sun, and rolling around, the color just refuses to quit. That’s amazing if you’re committing to a look, though maybe slightly less ideal if you’re like me and occasionally wish your pony could switch up her vibe a little more often. The coverage is also incredible. A little goes a long way, and it saturates even thicker hair really evenly. No patchiness, no weird fading spots- just solid color all around. I got a teal shade, and it started off absolutely perfect; rich, vibrant, exactly what I was hoping for. Over time, it did shift a bit more green, which wasn’t a dealbreaker, just something to be aware of if you’re picky about tone. If you want bold color that sticks around and actually delivers on coverage, this dye is kind of unbeatable. Just be ready to commit- because it definitely does.
