Marcy Deluxe Utility Bench (SB670)

Easy to assemble. Sturdy.

Great purchase, exactly what I needed not to big either.

This bench is solidly built, really steady (I am 210 lbs) and the right width for my frame.

Very sturdy construction, but it does take up a relatively large amount of space for a workout bench.

After using this bench for my workout sessions this week, I feel that this is one of the best adjustable benches I have ever used. It ticks of all the boxes: - sturdy construction - wide padding - easy to adjust bench incline/decline - easy to adjust seat angle - easy to move around Assembly didnt take too long, and the instructions were fairly clear and easy to follow. Depending on your height you may find that the seat cushion is a bit low to the ground when you adjust the bench to 90 degree position. I am over 6 feet tall and find it about right for my needs, though. I really have no suggestions to improve the bench, other than perhaps to offer it with an all-black/solid color scheme (rather than the white trim). The bench is a very nice companion to Marcys home cage/rack system.

Installation can be a hit and miss most times. This was a miss. When holes don't line up with iron steel you have a problem. I'm a guy with tools but this is absurd. Marcy usually comes with great products and this is no exception but the quality of installation disappoints.

From packaged delivery to complete assembly was about 2.5 hours. Not bad for 65 year old that is useing this as part of strength rehab. Solid and reassureing regards balance. I particularly like height of back panel, complete support of back, neck and head, my 6'1" frame. Highly recommend, product and price!

My boyfriend put it together in about 45 min. It is sturdy and it looks great. My boyfriend is 6ft 4 inches and weighs about 220 and he uses it all the time. Really a good deal. I am happy I purchased it.

I'll cut to the chase by saying that the instructions are straight forward and it is rather easy to assemble without assistance. All parts are labeled. Not all tools are included. You will need a wrench, socket set or adjustable wrench to complete. All metal frame and seat adjustments components are well made and very strong. When assembled properly there is zero play between assembled parts. Padding is thick enough but still firm to allow for gray support. Seat and back rest adjustments are simple and secure. I guess the only negative aspects are that the vinyl is a bit on the thin side and I was shorted one bolt for the frame. Unfortunate the only thing it is missing is ankle holds for the decline position. Without ankle holds decline position is virtually useless. At the end of the day I believe this is by far one of the better made bench for its price. You won't be upset with your purchase.

Right out of the box the item was missing half of the instruction for assembly and I had to download them from the web. I put the bench together and it was so rickety for want of a better word and I took it apart and returned it. I don't expect precision engineering for this price but I would like something better than a ten year old could make in machine shop.

The bench was not too difficult to put together and the end result is great. It does not feel flimsy or cheap- it feels like something you would use in a regular gym. I am very happy with the purchase.
