Because this long-wear formula contains highly volatile, waterproof ingredients, the glass jar must be sealed completely airtight to prevent the creamy texture from shrinking and hardening into a solid disc. To ensure the texture stays perfectly smooth and blendable during normal use, keeping the lid screwed on tightly when not in use and storing the jar upside down is highly recommended. Because this waterproof formula is packed with highly concentrated pigment for long-lasting wear, a very tiny amount goes a long way, which can make it easy to accidentally apply too much product. To achieve a softer, buildable look, we suggest lightly tapping your angled brush into the pomade and wiping any excess off onto a tissue or the inside of the jar lid before touching your skin, then using feather-light, hair-like strokes starting at the arch of your brow. Running a clean spoolie brush through your brows immediately after application will also work wonders to diffuse the deep brown pigment and soften any harsh lines.

New holy grail brow pomade!
Maybelline Tattoo Studio Brow Pomade is now my new holy grail brow pomade! I have combination skin (oily in the t-zone especially during hot and humid weather) and the Maybelline Tattoo Studio brow pomade survived a 6 hour day at a waterpark with my oily t-zone - being splashed in the face, applying sunscreen etc. with very minimal fading/smudging. I was a long time user of the KVD Super Pomade which is unfortunately discontinued now. I have also tried the popular Anastasia DIPBROW® Pomade and Tarte Big Ego eyebrow pomade and none of them perform as well as this one!

Not as good
I loved the Tattoo Studio Brow Pomade. I had one that was getting old and not going on as smooth so I figured it was time for a new one. Well, the new one is worse than the one I had! I don't know if the formula has changed or what but it isn't smooth at all and goes on very stiff and blotchy. I even tried scraping off the top layer and getting to fresher material underneath, but it was the same. Don't know if I just got a bad batch or that's just how it is now, but it's pretty expensive to be playing trial and error with. This just isn't as good as it used to be.

TERRIBLE. Don't waste your money.
HORRIBLE! Whoever designed this should be fired and, whatever group approved this awful product should join them. The opening in the product pot is too small for the swirled brush part to fit, so you cannot swipe and coat the full length of the brush. This results in clumpy bits on the top 1/4" of the brush and is essentially useless to coat your brows effectively. The other side with the little paintbrush looking end is nice for lining, but when only half of the applicator works it's a waste of money. To add insult to injury, the applicator comes in a thin cellophane sleeve instead of having a protective plastic cap on each end. This is NOT how an applicator should be packaged and encourages dust and bacteria to accumulate. I have used and loved Maybelline products for over a decade, but they just keep getting worse and worse. I am done after this one.

Dry, crumbly texture
I always seem to end up buying this product, thinking maybe this time I will like it,maybe im using it wrong, or maybe they fixed the formula, but get disappointed everytime. The product is so dry, its falls off your face in a crumbly like way that I have never seen with any other brow product. It does not glide at all.

I deal with alopecia, so this has been helpful for putting on my brows. I don’t smudge throughout day or while I’m in my dance classes. It doesn’t last for days unless you don’t move while you sleep lol Once the pot gets emptier it’s harder to apply. So be mindful of that. But it’s been great for me. I remove with either make up remover, alcohol swab or micellar water.

I have been using this for years, but the last 2 that I bought have been dry and clumpy. It is almost impossible to work with it and make it look good.

New formula ruined it for me; too blotchy.
I honestly use to love this, but the formula seemed to very obviously change and it is not working for me. It seems to grab to my hairs but not to my skin, and as someone who buys this because her brows aren't full, it really sucks. It ends up looking blotchy and its hard to keep a clean line. If you like your brows really dark and unblended, this might work for you. For me it a no go.

However, to ensure the best results, we recommend gently turning the pencil three or four times, without applying excess pressure.
