Q: What are the dimensions of the individual guard? And is there adhesive in the back to hold it in place on the brief?

submitted by Manny - 5 years ago
  • A: Hi Manny - Thanks for asking! The length is 12.4 inches and the width is 5.7 inches. We hope this helps! - Jerith

  • A: about10" long. they haven't changed. i wished they would, like making them an inch longer (or even half an inch) with a stronger adhesive.

    submitted byjune23 - 3 months ago
  • A: They are actually less than 10" long and definitely less than 5" wide. I bought them based on the statement the statement above. The comment was made 2 years ago and probably they have changed since

submitted byShar - 3 years ago
  • A: Yes, weak adhesive. And pad is too long overall. Also too wide at low end for me - I'm wt. 130 lbs. and using medium brief.

submitted byFixDimsTargetPlease - 5 years ago

Q: how many ouces do they hold?

submitted by Vanessa - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello Vanessa - Great question! After recent testing they can hold up to 17 ounces. Happy shopping!

submitted byTazia - 2 years ago
    Target staff support
  • A: you can't keep up with counting how many ounces it can hold. i changed mine at the second dribble (especially at night), otherwise you'll end up with wet briefs.

    submitted byjune23 - 3 months ago

Q: Pad left in washing machine. Will absorbent material harm plumbing?

submitted by Mountainmom - 2 months ago
  • A: Hi, Mountainmom - Thanks for asking! These are recommended not to flush, its best to dispose of them in the trash. Have a great day! - Rob

Q: Can these be worn with boxers

submitted by Debby - 5 years ago
  • A: you could, but it probably won't work as well as wearing with snug fitting briefs. they need to be held in place to prevent leaking as they absorb urine and get heavier. the heavier they get the more chance they will leak as they sag away from your body.

Best Comfort

Up&UP Mens pads are the most comfortable for me after prostrate surgery. I have been using them for a year, have tried other brands, and like the Target generic UP&UP mens pads best. I do not use the adhesive on the pads. I use one safety pin in the middle to hold in place. I usually use a jock strap during the day, and briefs at night. Had to stop using briefs with leg extensions, as shown on pad instructions. Briefs as noted on instructions on the pads should be used (those without extensions for legs). But for a really good active fit during the day a jock strap cannot be beat.

These pads provide the protection my husband needs from the little dribbles that happen as he's gotten older and recovered from prostate cancer surgery. He says they are comfortable, didn't even feel that he was wearing one. It's hard to admit that we are getting old but wonderful to know the Up&Up pads are available to comfortably take care of one of the little senior annoyances we face.

Post RP patient - 2 years ago
Post radical prostatectomy, my leaking is not severe, and this absorbency is enough for me. Tried both Target & Depend, and the pads themselves seem identical. Target's advantage is that they're individually wrapped in an easily-opened plastic pouches, which you can reuse to discreetly dispose of your used pad. Depend uses a light fabric, which I have yet to open without tearing to pieces. For visual and (cough) aromatic discretion, I think Target's the way to go.

Up and Up Guards - 2 years ago, Verified purchaser
The new Up and Up guards are smaller and tend to leak at the sides. The result is wet underpants and having to change clothes and pads more often. The old guards were my preferred brand; I will now find a better product.

RDCiniowa - 3 years ago
Except for the outer packaging, these are identical to the Reassure brand that is more absorbent than the national brand that Target stocks. I have tested the national brand sold by Target and Up and Up side by side by pouring half a cup of water on each and then blotting with a paper towel. Up & Up, came back dry, the other came back with my handprint.
