How light and the amount of cuts you get from one battery is a plus. The handling ergonomics and overall balance is great with this saw. Plenty of power for anything I have encountered so far.

Still haven’t gotten my saw back from repair. It’s been in metabos repair since June 12th. I get tool repair turnaround but the 5 day promise should be taken off all the paperwork. I love the saw just wish it was back in my hands.
Hmmmm....I like it, but......

I have been using the saw for about 6 months now and I do like the saw, but there are definitely needed improvements. The saw is light for sure and easy to handle and that is the main reason I bought it. Batteries have a good run time with a lot of power for a cordless saw, batteries charge fast as well. The weight is good and bad to some degree. Light is definitely better for the stress on the arm lifting it up all the time, the only drawback with that is that the saw will drift a little if you're not focused. My heavier corded Ridgid stays real true bc it is heavier, but I'll take the lighter saw when using all day, it does make a difference. The issues are mostly minor but do come into play when you use it all the time like I do, and I think improvements can be made. 1. Dust exhaust port: Redesign please! Annoying having dust coming right into your sight line. I know the exhaust piece can be used with a vac, but who really has that on a job site every day? Maybe Kyle with RR. Not to mention it's still on the blade side in the way. There are other saws with extraction on the other side. 2. Rafter hook: just could be located differently, not the end of the world though. 3. Thumb safety start button (whatever it's really called): For me it's a constant to actually have to move my right hand up and off the full grip of the handle to depress the button to activate. Maybe it's just my hand, but I don't think so. In my opinion it needs to be a little lower to be less awkward to start. 4. The biggest complaint for me, and maybe it's something i'm doing with saw, but when I run the saw against a straight edge fence, the saw (or blade) will literally come to a point that it's fighting the cut line and pulls into the fence and will bog down. I've been doing this same type of cutting for 6 yrs. I miter 2 x 12 rough cedar wraps for posts and have to put a 45 degree miter on both sides and this happens every time i use a fence to keep a true line. I can do it manually w/o the fence, but the miter will not be absolute dead on, as we all know. I have to carry the Ridgid with me for the miters. I can't understand it, it's not pinching, I try to go real slow to ensure i'm on my line and against the fence, but not sure what's going on. Seems like anything over 30 degrees bevel is affected. NO problems with smaller degrees. To me it has to be the blade stress of something. They're so thin now it's ridiculous. Can't wait for the 1/32nd kerf blades! Anyway, not trying to be negative, but that's my experience so far. I do like using the saw and I'll continue to use it and maybe I can get past some of the stuff, but some redesigns can be done. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this saw 3 years ago and I have yet to use another saw that I like more. It's power to weight ratio is unmatched. I'm a builder and have used it on everything from framing to cutting granite countertops (with the appropriate blades) and it has never left me wanting for more power. Its also light enough I can use it all day without tiring my arm out. I can't recomend this saw enough!

This was my first Metabo HPT tool and I was immediately impressed. The build quality feels excellent and it is lightweight and well-balanced, even with the 36V battery. I have used it for all kinds of cuts on a variety of lumber types and sizes and it consistently produces clean, accurate cuts. The adjustments are quick and easy, it does not cause fatigue due to weight, the sightlines for following lines are clear, the dust collection works well, literally zero complaints about this tool. After using this saw, I am very happy to have bought into the Metabo HPT ecosystem. Please bring more accessories and tools, like for garden work!

I can confidently say that this saw offers a fantastic combination of power and lightweight design, although there are a couple of minor features I'd like to see improved. One of the biggest standout features is the weight. At 2 pounds lighter than the leading rear-handle circular saw, this tool is significantly easier to handle. The reduced weight, combined with its well-balanced design, makes it much more comfortable to use for extended periods. This is particularly noticeable when you’re cutting in awkward positions, something that could be a challenge with heavier saws. I found that the reduced fatigue allowed me to work longer and more efficiently. It cuts through multiple layers of plywood and OSB without breaking a sweat, thanks to its brushless motor that delivers 5,100 RPM and a 2-7/16” cutting depth. I was impressed with how the saw powered through both softwoods and tougher materials with ease. The ergonomics of the saw are also impressive, with a comfortable grip that made maneuvering the tool effortless. The blade left sightlines are excellent, providing clear visibility, and the bevel capacity (up to 53°) with positive stops at 0°, 45°, and 53° was handy for making precise cuts. The dust collector was an appreciated addition, though like most handheld circular saws, it doesn’t capture every bit of dust. Still, it’s more efficient than most. The electric brake is another feature that stands out – it stops the blade quickly after the trigger is released, improving both safety and productivity. When it comes to performance, the saw lives up to its claims. I was able to make 100 cuts of 2x4s per charge easily, which was more than sufficient for an entire day’s worth of my work. The 36V MultiVolt battery has excellent runtime, and I didn’t need to worry about constant recharging. It’s also worth mentioning the ability to use an AC adapter (sold separately) for continuous power when needed. However, there are a couple of areas where the saw could be improved. The lack of an LED worklight is a bit disappointing, especially when working in dimly lit environments. A worklight would have been helpful in those situations. Additionally, there’s no onboard blade wrench storage, which would have been a convenient feature to include. I had to keep the wrench in my tool bag, which wasn’t the end of the world but still a minor inconvenience. Despite these small drawbacks, the Metabo HPT 36V rear-handle circular saw stands out as an incredibly powerful and lightweight tool that’s perfect for professionals who need reliability and efficiency. It competes strongly with other top models, including the Makita saws, which are known for their durability, but this saw's lightweight design and ease of use have made it a new favorite of mine. If Metabo HPT can incorporate features like an LED worklight and onboard wrench storage, this saw could easily become the go-to rear-handle circular saw on the market. Still, I’m very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone in the construction or framing industry looking for a powerful, lightweight, and efficient circular saw.

Thus is a light but heavy weight saw. I have yet to put it to a task it did not master. Others are putting down their Makita or Dewalt to use my saw.

This is my first cordless circular saw. It works great and has all the power I need. It is heavier than a corded saw but the convenience of not having to fight a cord is worth it, especially when working on a roof.

I have two Metabo C3607DA circular saw and love the power and ergonomic of the saw, but wanted a left blade saw. When this RearHandle saw was on sale, I jumped on the deal and couldn’t believe how much better this saw is. Seems like there’s more power, easier to see my cut, very accurate, and very ergonomic to use.

If you’re looking for a rear handle circular saw that delivers power, precision, and all-day performance without weighing you down, the multi-volt 36V/18V is a game-changer. One of the standout features of this saw is its lightweight design. Unlike many rear handle models that can feel bulky and cumbersome, this one strikes the perfect balance between power and maneuverability. Whether you’re making long rip cuts or precision crosscuts, it feels comfortable and well-balanced, reducing fatigue over extended use. Cuts Through Anything This saw doesn’t hesitate—whether it’s dense hardwood, engineered lumber, or wet pressure-treated material, it powers through with ease. The high-torque motor combined with the rear-handle grip gives you superior control, making even the toughest cuts feel effortless. The 36V battery system is another major win. It easily lasts a full workday on a single charge, meaning no stopping mid-job to swap out batteries. This rear handle circular saw is a must-have for anyone who wants power without the bulk, precision without struggle, and a battery that keeps up with the job. Whether you’re on a framing crew or handling finish work, this saw won’t let you down.
