Q: how is this plant based if it is made with gelatin? isn't that misleading?

A: Gelatin is used to make the outer shell of the capsule and capsule seal. It's a mixture of water-soluble proteins that come from collagen, a naturally occurring protein, Chloe.

A: Great question! The recommend dosage will vary depending on what you are using Metamucil Capsules for. For Digestive Health, we recommend 2 to 5 capsules up to 4x/day. To maintain heart health by lowering cholesterol, you’ll need 5 capsules up to 4x/day. To maintain healthy blood sugar, we recommend taking 5 capsules 4x/day before each meal. We hope this helps!

5 pills up to 4x a day to be effective? 20 pills a day. 20. Why didn’t I pay attention to the label! The pills are large and very unpleasant. I’ll stick to benefiber packets to go TYVM.

The label makes a big deal about the plant-based psyllium, but the capsule itself is made of gelatin extracted from beef. You also have to take up to five capsules up to a couple times a day, this whole bottle could last less than two weeks.

There’s only 7% of your daily value of fiber in FIVE CAPSULES. That’s going to get expensive fast - you’d have to take 25 capsules just to get 35% of your daily fiber intake :o

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I wasn’t expecting much from these and expecting them to be gross. But they have really good flavor and I think can give some really good results if consistently taken and keeping on a routine to build up a fiber routine. Overall I feel like they helped my in take a little bit but I would need to continue more than 1 jar use to see more solid results.
