Q: Is the UV ligth really need it?
submitted by Worst walker - 2 months ago
A: Yes it is. If not, the resin will not set. You either need the sunlight or an artificial form of it. I prefer a flashlight bc it cures it faster

I get these to entertain my toddler on airplane rides. They are always amazing how detailed the little items are, he loves them and I actually enjoy them too. I do wish they were slightly less expensive.

I bought 8 of these and sadly none of them cured. Resin is liquid. I’m very disappointed and was hoping miniverse had corrected the issue, apparently they haven’t. Uncured resin is TOXIC. I will be contacting the company with a complaint.

The new resin needs a 365nm UV light or it will not cure. The Miniverse kitchen oven will not work on the new resin and neither does the brand new light that was just put out by them.
New resin is bad.

We got the crepes and the berry syrup would not cure. It must be the new resin. Super disapointed.

New resin formula works great as long as you're using a 395 U.V light. Miniverse slaying the realism again with their new food recipes. Fun to make and display. Fun to remix and perfect size to use foe your barbies, L.O.L, Bratz and Monster high dolls. Wear gloves while you use the resin to prevent possible resin allergy and mask for fumes. Great for all ages except young children. Recommend adult supervision and assistance with children 8 to 13. Forever mini verse lover!
WON"T CURE

The new formula won't cure. I shouldn't have to go out and buy a new uv light because even sitting it in the sun doesn't seem to be helping. Plus you have a new uv light but it's not available to purchase anywhere.

The new resin takes a longer time to cure, so it gets messier. I got the red jello which I was super happy about but the resin didn't cure squishy like with the blue jello set. I emailed MGA and couldn't get a clear response on whether this was supposed to happen or not.
Fun mini foods!

*HEADS UP* the new resin requires a 365nm uv light, not the 395nm the kitchen light is. I absolutely love these! Would supervise with kids though

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are so cute and fun. Me and my granddaughter Set them up after they arrived. There are very small parts in these so must be extremely careful around younger small children.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I accepted this offer because my 10 year old daughter loves these kinds of things! We opened them together and had a blast! From opening to see what surprises were next, to building and playing with the miniature adorable toys! I would totally recommend this product for families with kid(s) that are into these kinds of adventures!
Cute idea but not the toy for us

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids love miniature things, so they were very excited to receive this and play with it. We had the pesto pasta mini collectible, complete with herbs (tiny plastic bits), basil leaves, and tomatoes. They had fun assembling it, pouring out the “olive oil” (resin) and mixing it up. But once it was set, the fun was over and they weren’t interested. And I was left to clean up reason that dripped and tiny green pieces that spilled out. If your kid has a collection of these, this is for you. Unfortunately, it’s not for us!

I love doing these with my daughter. We have the little kitchen set and have done about 30 of the balls. The only two issues I have are 1- it is REALLY hard to get the resin out of the bottles. I wish the tops of all of the bottles were wider and came with a scoop or that they were a more pliable plastic. Some of them are impossible to squeeze because of the shape. Like the coco that came with the christmas ball. This also makes it so some of the items don’t come out right since you can’t get the resin out. With one of the appliance sets one of the drinks is only half full because we got tired of trying to squeeze it out. With my halloween latte I had the same issue and had to put one of the resin caps inside of the cup in order to place the whipped cream in without it sinking. I've had to use pliers but that doesnt always work well because it just squeezes the resin together, it doesn't force it out. I created a contraption out of a cardboard box that holds the bottles upside down until we are ready to use them but I don't think I should have to do that. I'm sure it is to keep the light from penetrating through the bottle but I don't think that the plastic has to be thick and heavy to accomplish that. I don’t recommend this for anyone with arthritis or any other muscle or joint issue in the arms or hands. My second "issue" is the sweets to savory/beverage ratio. There are WAY too many desserts and not enough regular foods and drinks. My daughter loves to make the drinks, but there are practically none outside of the appliances series, and she is tired of making cakes and ice cream and cereal. Of the 30 balls we have done, there have been 4 savory (taco, pizza, turkey, hamburger) and 4 drinks (2 appliance sets which are just drinks and the halloween latte). This is not due to the luck of the draw with blind balls. If you look at each series and what is possible to get, you will notice that the desserts far outweigh the meals/drinks. The drinks are pretty boring to me but I think they could be gussied up with other accessories to include, like maybe different types of cups, and cup tops, squiggle straws, multi colored ice cubes, stuff like that. The lifestyle series is cute too. I also like that each recipe comes with more than enough items so that if you have left over you can get creative with other sets you pick up.
