Using a large metal spoon, fully immerse the heavy duty mouth guard into the water. Leave for 20 seconds (no longer than 25 seconds). Remove mouth guard from pot and lay on a paper towel. After 3 seconds pick up the mouth guard and place it on the top row of teeth. Once secure, gently press upward with your thumbs to form a mold around your teeth. Then close your mouth and use a sucking sensation to create a tight fit.

Q: Is there an alternate way to heat this for the first moliding that doesn't need a microwave?

A: Hi Sea! Thank you for your question! Yes! If you don’t have access to a microwave, you can heat the mouthguard using stovetop boiling water. 1. Boil water in a small pot on the stove. 2. Remove from heat and let it sit for about 30 seconds to slightly cool. 3. Submerge the mouthguard in the hot water for 30-60 seconds (check instructions for exact timing). 4. Carefully remove using tongs and let it cool slightly before molding to your teeth. Let us know if you need further assistance!

There are 2 guards and 2 "trays". Both guards are too short to reach molars and are very very thick making them uncomfortable to wear. Box says remoldable but I don't trust it. Do not recommend.

These were misshapen right out of the box. Their “large” size is too small to reach the back molars. And it overly shrinks after cooling, making them painful to wear. For comparison, I routinely wear a basic sports mouth guard, so I know how a good guard should fit. This product is, sadly, landfill filler.

Bought these to temporarily replace a custom hard plastic night guard, but couldn’t stand them. They’re made of soft silicone, which apparently needs to be very thick to offer any level of protection… it feels bulky and terrible. I couldn’t tolerate having it in my mouth for more than a few seconds, let alone trying to fall asleep. This was after trimming it down as much as possible. Bad buy.

I placed in the boiing water after I had turned off the heat following instructions and it was so flimsy, it fell apart. The second one I took out at 17 seconds and same thing happened. Could not wear, they fell apart. Waste of money.

My dentist made a custom mouth guard for me to prevent damage from tooth clenching. The mouth guard wore out. I have been using these for about six months. I trimmed the first guard I made because it was too big for my mouth, and the cushiness of these is better than my old hard guard. Despite it being still usable, it is smaller than I wanted after heating it. The rest of the guards fit perfectly. The guards are thick when I first put them in my mouth, but I get used to them quickly.

The packaging and listing are confusing and need to be addressed. Two sizes of mouth guards are included. Each adult and child size of the clear and frosted plastic versions is the same. There is no mention of what to use where or what purpose the second version appears for in the listing. Not a big deal, just hope they can update their packaging in the future, because everyone seems to sell the same product at a similar price. In the Q&A section, I read that this is made in the USA, but the packaging only says 'Distributed by' with a Florida address. At the very least, this would be supporting an American company, but I don't see any indication that the product is made in the USA. In a costsavings measure, the directions are only on the outside of the box, and the product is the only thing in it. An observation is not really a big deal. Since it says 'boiling water, then take off heat for 1 minute to establish water temperature', the directions on the back are probably better than most. After following the directions, everything worked great and exactly as it was supposed to. I had to trim a bit so that it wasn't just filling my mouth, because they come with enough excess to fit any mouth. I only purchased this to protect my front teeth, so it may depend on your specific use case. One suggestion I can make is to cut at an angle. The materials end up with squaredoff edges that are at least 116" in thickness, which is very large in the mouth. You don't feel it as much with slanted edges. I wish there was a better way to get rid of the excess thickness. I tried a utility knife and a hobby knife. It suited my needs and is working well. There is no weird taste or anything like that. It was easy to setup.

I’m a huge fan of these retainers. I grind my teeth very bad in my sleep and these have helped so much. They come in different sizes too so you can ensure they will fit.
