My kids are 10 and 12 and they both enjoy playing with this circuitry set. There are multiple different ways of making a circuit and they are still trying out different ones. The pieces are made well and the instructions are easy for older kids to follow on their own. Some adult help would probably be needed for younger kids of course. Overall this has been a nice way for them to stay busy.

My 8 year old is currently sitting on our living room floor with no devices in site. He has his Epic Circuits science kit and he is entertained! So far all on his own he has created multiple projects. His favorite being the light and fan thus far. Super cool stem kit forsure.

This experiment set was cute. I thought it was a good idea for my son, but the child definitely has to be over the age of eight a video was recommended, but the video wasn’t very good at explaining how to conduct the experiments and put it together. I find if you look at the booklet, it’s better at explaining how the process goes
Fun way to learn!

As soon as we opened this, our son was excited to start playing/experimenting. The directions are simple and straight forward for him to use on his own. He even started to deviate from the instructions a bit to figure things out. This is another quality activity from National Geographic.

The simple circuit toy kit with project instructions is a fun and educational tool that introduces kids to the basics of electricity through hands-on learning. The kit includes clearly labeled components and an easy-to-understand instruction booklet that guides children through a variety of creative circuit-building activities. The directions are written in kid-friendly language with helpful diagrams, making it suitable for both independent play and guided learning. While batteries are not included and organizing the small parts may require a container, the overall experience is engaging and encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and early STEM exploration.

I can't say enough good things about this Stem item. My son is in love. It makes him think, challenges him, and makes him want to try more National Geographic items. Perfect birthday, or Christmas gift, or just because gift.
Many ways to have fun!

We got this set to have some science fun with my 8 year old and even my six year old found it interesting. The materials feel sturdy, and the components connect easily, which helps build confidence and encourages independent play. It’s not just about fun this kit also teaches valuable lessons in how circuits work, all in a way that feels like play, not schoolwork. Highly recommended for any young scientist or tinkerer in your life. Great as a gift, learning tool, or just an afternoon of educational fun!

This is SUCH a cool activity and kit! This is a great gift for those kiddos interested in STEM! It includes a step by step guide with more than 40 projects! I am so impressed with the quality and design of this. It is a larger box with all the pieces! I highly recommend this for your innovators! It says 8+ on the box for age.

If your kids love science and learning about how things work, this is perfect. In our homeschool class, we went over how electric in current work and this was the perfect project to do with the kids. They were very fascinated to see how everything can connect and how The current connecting then allowed the fan to start blowing. It is really great.

My 8 year old loves science! He was able to read and assemble the projects by himself. There are a lot of different experiments. I like that aspect as you aren’t, “done” with the toy as you can use it again and again.
Great fun, not overly complicated.

This Epic Circuits kit from NatGeo was a blast for my son, it's simple enough that a smaller kid could have fun with a parent's help, but also plays with interesting topics that our son in the MS engineering/robotics program could relate to as well. The kit comes with everything you need other than three AAA batteries and the instructions (and videos) are easy to follow and get you right into the fun. Whether your kid is interested in circuits or not, this is a fun and well thought out kit with plenty of variation for any kid.
A impactful engaging learning tool

This is a great introductory gift to 8 year olds or older to experiment with hands on learning building their first circuit. My child worked on the first ten circuits in about 10 mins. Directions were very clear and the color detailed instructional pages allowed for limited parental assistance unless he was truly stuck. The joy and excitement seeing what each combination made as a parent made me so happy to witness my child's joy and excitement figuring things out! The coolest combinations to build circuits for kids while we discussed what’s happening behind the scenes.

Easy to put together and understand the concept of circuits and electricity. Kids really took an experimental approach and play and tinkered with all the accessories and buttons to achieve different circuits.

This is a super fun activity for kids (and it even keeps the husbands busy for a little bit) my son still plays with it off and on a week later so its not one of those play once and never again type toys. But we did encounter a problem, one of the pieces broke within 30 minutes of play, looks to be an internal soldering issue.

This kit is so fun! I meant it for my kids but I gave it a go myself and really enjoyed the first few projects. 40 projects is a bit misleading as some are just a second option for the previous project, but I love how they build on each other as you learn. And unlike chemistry sets, there is no mess and you can redo the projects as many times as you’d like!
Science can really be fun!

This can keep both young and a little older learning and having fun for a long time. With over 40 projects and about 20 components to learn from and even more if you have some imagination, as an adult I found this both engaging and learned a lot. Think like an Engineer and Designer as you work thru the various projects. It's definitely a learning experience. Take 1 step at a time, comes with a guide to clearly walk you thru.
So-so circuit kit.

First, the instructions are terrible. They aren't clear, the font is small and they are a bit disorganized. Second, the fan doesn't work! The notch is too small so it flies off before it can get to full power. Third, the vacuum doesn't work. It's underpowered, making it difficult for it to function properly. My son had fun but I was frustrated as a parent because this could have been so much cooler.
