I did the National Geographic Glow-in-the-Dark Crystal Lab with my kids, and it was such a hit! The kit comes with everything you need, and the instructions were super easy to follow, which made it fun and stress-free. Watching the crystals grow over a few days was such a cool experience, especially for the kids. They were so excited to check on them every day! And when they started glowing in the dark? Total magic. It does take some patience waiting for the crystals to form, but it was 100% worth it. If you’re looking for a fun, hands-on project to do with your family, I’d definitely recommend this one.
It takes patience and a few more steps than I thought, but it's worth it.

My daughter is super excited about this kit! It's going to be awesome to have the glow in the dark crystal, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it interacts with UV lights. I was a little surprised with the process for creating the crystal though- it's a little more involved than I expected but by no means is it a dealbreaker.
Seems fun but not worth it

My kids were super excited for this kit. They enjoyed putting it together and were really excited to see how it turned out. Unfortunately in the end the actual crystal didn't really turn out. I couldn't get it out of the glass jar we made it in and out crumbled once I finally got it out.
A Glowing Scientific Success!

This crystal lab was so fun and easy enough for my 5 year old grandson to complete with my hands on assistance. We allowed our crystal to grow for the full 7 days. We took time each day to observe it's growth. And, at the end, to our amazement it really did glow. I especially appreciated the included learning guide so we could both understand more about what a crystal is, how crystals form and how the process of making the crystal worked. We consider our crystal a scientific success!
Great gift!

Awesome stem kit for the kids to learn and use. Love it glows in the dark so when it’s finished growing it will glow and continue to get bigger over time. Easy to follow instructions and great gift for any kid.

I recently got the National Geographic Glow In The Dark Crystal Lab for my 8 years old son. He likes the set a lot. The kit comes with everything needed to start growing crystals, which also glow in the dark. There were clear instructions that make it simple even for kids to follow with some guidance. What I love most is that it's not just a fun activity, but also a learning experience. My son now knows more about how crystals form. Also, there was a learning guide included. I would recommend this kit, if you’re looking for a STEM activity that’s educational yet fun.

Very misleading. The crystals you grow don’t glow. It’s the seed rock that glows.
Waste of money and time.

My kids were so excited to see what would happen. The tablet looks the same as the day it was added. I watched multiple videos followed directions to the T but nothing. Very sad.

My daughter had so much fun doing this science kit . It was well worth the money and time. She was completely fascinated with it .
We have used a few of these kits, and my kids love them. We regularly give these as birthday gifts for my kids' friends, too, and everyone seems to enjoy them. (I only wish the crystals grew bigger.)

Not as advertised at all. It’s been about 3 weeks and the smallest of growths has occurred and the rim of the glass looks like foam. That has entertained us more than the actual crystal. Waste of money

This was a great activity to do as a project. It was very engaging and fun to do. It was time consuming and included some things I did not have but it worked out good.
