Hard to Identify several of them
It was difficult to determine what some of the gems were. I think i figured it out after searching some of them online.. and even that wasn’t clear. The colors in the photos are much brighter and richer… the stones are completely different shades or faded. My kid liked it anyway and excited to see what he got each day. I’ll recommend it but would wait for a sale.

Bought for my son, it was good until the last day. The big mystery surprise rock that you break open was empty. He was so excited and kept trying to dig and nothing was there.

Not all rocks advertised were actually included
This was a really fun idea, but unfortunately we did not get all of the rocks that were promised. We got an additional quartz point (I think) in addition to two others we couldn't identify-- the kit did not include a turquenite, green aventurine, or green fluorite. My kid was bummed as those are arguably the coolest ones!

Poorly constructed.
It’s a great concept just poorly executed. Some of the days were missing gemstones and we found them all on the last row. Although some were truly missing. Very disappointing. Oh well. They need to use better glue so there is no gap between windows and the cardboard so the rocks dont slip out during transportation. Please review lego advent calendar. They have great execution.

This is such an interesting and educational advent calendar for the crystal and gem lover. My 10-year-old daughter loves and is into collecting stones and gems. This advent calendar is a great gift and includes pieces like the little bag, and also to make a necklace and earrings of the favorite gems.

Advent full of Adventure
National Geographic Rock & Gemstone Advent Calendar 2024 is the best gift you could give a child. It has been fun going through the Advent Calendar to see what is next. My youngest has had a lot of fun learning about each rock or gemstone. I love the idea of not getting candy each day. What can be learned from this advent calendar is priceless. It's teaching kids in a fun way. It's a very informational product. My childs had endless fun discovering and learning about each new rock or gemstone each day. Which culminates in the end to make a beautiful necklace at the end.

Inaccurate Descriptions.
I love the idea of it, however, as my kids are (currently) opening their surprises everyday, I have noticed that the rocks don’t line up. There has been twice now that we haven’t been able to match the rocks/gemstones up with any of the ones listed. We even look used google image to attempt to assist, and the every angle we took the photos from - they came up as rocks/gemstones not listed as being in the box. It is also particularly easy for a different days surprise to fall out if you have a rambunctious child who accidentally opens a day a little too quick as the paper thin cardboard holding it together does not seal with days separate from each other. Overall, it is a really cute advent calendar and my boys love it - it’s just frustrating having to look up the type of rocks/gems that are actually in it.

Unisex advent calendar
This advent calendar is great for both girls and boys. My son has been so excited to see what gem or rock he opens every day. The calendar also comes with items that can be used to make jewelry or a keychain with the stones. The inside sleeve of the box also explains the different types of gems and stones. The only con is that some of the stones opened don’t look like the pictures so it’s hard to decipher which one it is.

Cute advent calendar!
Very cute advent calendar! We are only part way through but my daughter loves opening it every morning. Each rock and gemstone is pretty and in perfect shape. Each looks and has a different texture. There is also a ring and a necklace to show off your rock or gemstone of your choosing. It’s also easy to open and use. Would definitely recommend!

A fun geology advent calendar
The kids (ages 4 and 9) tore into this advent calendar and loved every bit of it. We did not make them wait to open one a day, we were just as curious about the quality of the contents. The rocks were colorful and a good size, they really liked piling them together and making rock towers. The one excavating rock was a lot messier than we accounted for, though, that part is best done outside. It comes with a nice leather pouch and a necklace and bracelet with wire basket to presumably hold the rocks - we're not sure how to get them in there though.

Has 24 items, with an identification table. Some are polished, rough cut, and natural. The packaging is way oversized to show false value. The advertisement of the activity page is nicer than the 2x2inch connect the dots paper. Got this on sale otherwise would have given it 1 star.

Super cool rocks Advent calendar
National Geographic Rock & Gemstone Advent Calendar 2024 is an interesting choice for an Advent calendar. I like the first box to open has the items you need for the rocks. So far we are up to date 3 and I like how each rock has an explanation on the inside cover what they are. This is great for a kid who likes rocks & wants to learn about them.

This is a great advent calendar for the holidays!! The first box to open contains a small pouch to hold the rocks in and some jewelry making items for the rocks and gemstones within the set. So far, all of the rocks are polished and beautiful. Unlike most advent calendars, this one will give long-lasting joy when wearing the jewelry or looking through the collection of gemstones. Perfect for the Mini Geologists
My 6 year old is OBSESSED with all things rocks, gemstones, crystals, fossils, etc… this is perfect for him! It’s also (sort of) helping him understand patience LOL
