[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With so many magnesium supplements on the market these days, it’s hard to know which one will garner the most benefits. New Chapter Magnesium Complex contains 3 kinds of magnesium including bisglycinate, sea-sourced, and whole-food fermented. The packaging states the combo makes it easier to digest and absorb. This supplement complex claims to offer muscle, bone, heart, and cellular energy support. I love that these supplements are in a glass bottle versus plastic. The recommendation is two pills per day (one in the morning and one at night for all day absorption). The pills are right around the size of a typical acetaminophen or vitamin. What I didn’t like was that the pills smell like seawater (I’m not a fish fan and that’s what the smell made me think of — not fishy but like seaweed). If I could ignore the smell, swallowing them was easy. No grittiness or grainy texture. I do love that these have fermented magnesium as this part acts as a probiotic to help avoid digestive disruption (if you have a sensitive GI system, this is a big plus!) I continued to take this supplement twice a day for two weeks in place of my current go-to magnesium supplement. And while I feel it has similar benefits, I just didn’t like the smell and I try to avoid soy, so this complex does contain soy and has a soy warning. If you like the idea of a more natural sea-based!) magnesium supplement, this could be a good one for you.

I followed a suggested use of one in the morning and one a nighttime. The tablets are a reasonable size and are not hard to swallow for me. I would recommend these to others in the market for extra magnesium.

I also found these tablets somewhat hard to swallow. I had to take each one separately (serving size is 2). Not sure if I would purchase, I’ll probably just stick with the magnesium chews I typically use.

I like taking magnesium in the evening to help with relaxation, and I find it makes me sleep more restfully. In addition, I find that it helps me with digestion. Magnesium is also reported to aid with muscle, bone, heart, and nerve support, and as we get older, we need all the support we can get. I have found this supplement to be really useful and easy to take, and plan to take it for the rest of my life.

After taking these consistently for a little over two weeks, I didn't notice a difference in any of the listed items that the pillow is supposed to help with. The pills are a tad on the larger side, so can be a little difficult to swallow. Thankfully there's no flavor when taking them or anybsort of after flavor.

I work with a neurologist who tells his patients to take magnesium glycinate (the other version will have you running to the bathroom) and because I’m younger than the population my doc sees I didn’t see the rush to go out and buy vitamins and minerals so I was excited when I got this. I don’t like how big they are. I am a big baby when it comes to swallowing pills and this was hard for me. I did it for 3 days and I gave up. I also had to use the restroom a bit and I’m not sure if it’s due to the magnesium or something else. Obviously 3 days of taking them gave me no benefit to really provide a great review but I can’t keep taking them.. if they were smaller or had a different coating I would take them.

The pills themselves are pretty large but I find that I can easily break them with my hands to make them easier to swallow. I haven’t felt any “negative” side effects and will continue to take them.
