Q: Can I slice up my pizza while it's in the pan? In other words will it damage the aluminum? Markings or otherwise?

A:Â No. It is one pan with holes in it. I don't know why one of the images shows a second, smaller pan without holes. I thought the second pan was missing so I tried to return it and they sent me the exact same thing again - a single pan with holes.

I purchased two Nordic Ware pans. One normal semi deep and rectangle, and this one. I was preparing two different pizzas and about to use this. I already made a pizza in the other. When I went to oil this one, dark grey was coming off on my paper towel. I freaked out and thought I didn’t wash them correctly, while the other already had a beautifully made pie in it, ready to go in the oven. I was trying to figure out how to take the raw pizza out without ruining it. I washed this one twice. Lots of soap. Using a sponge. Then went to oil again and the dark gray was rubbing off still. I immediately stopped using it and put it back in the Target bag to return. Then whilst freaking out over the other, I rubbed the pan the other pie was in already. Nothing came off. I felt some relief and cooked that pie, but this one, something is wrong. I do not know what’s rubbing off, but I’m not about to serve or eat it.

I bought this hoping it would help me get a good crust and size on my pizza! There's a bit of a learning curve. One pro is it is a perfect size and shape for a making a large pizza. If you put your dough directly onto the pan however, it will stick, make it hard to remove your dough from the pan and it won't even brown, for all of your troubles. What worked for me and what I reccomend is that you line the pan with a parchment paper and then do your oil/cornmeal and assemble your pizza on top of the parchment. It can be hard to make a circular pizza that has a big circumference without a circular pan so I do find that helpful. Let your crust cook for 8 mins or so and then pop it out, top your pizza. It should be cooked enough that you can then gently toss it onto the rack without the pan and can get a good crust. Hope this is helpful to some!

These are the worst pans I have ever used. The crust doesn’t get crisp. Everything sticks (even after properly greasing). Don’t bother getting these. They are a waste of money.

We have a lot of pizza parties at my house and I make a lot of pizzas. So far I’ve been using a vented steel pan and picked this one up for something different. Because it’s aluminum, it’s light weight but feels if good quality. I used it with temps up to 525 without issue Others below complained of sticking. In my years of home pizza baking I have always used olive oil on my pans before baking. This pans did seem to absorb the oil rather than coat however I had no issues with stick. Oil you pan and you should have no problem. I imagine that goes for almost all pans. You might try a little flour on the pan too to help with sticking. I thought it was a bit expensive

Pizza sticks to this pan like insects to flypaper. I have to pry the pizza off the pan each time, the way my dentist pries off my impacted wisdom teeth, and just as agonizing. Don't buy this. Buy something with a non-stick coating. I would rather get cancer and die from the coating.
