Description
The Oral-B FlossActionX X-Filament Replacement Brush Heads advanced filament technology design was created to brush away plaque. This replacement brush head provides a floss-like clean for healthier gums* with bristles that work to loosen plaque between teeth. Oral-B's FlossActionX Replacement Brush Head with X-Filament bristles is an ideal addition to your brushing routine because the bristles lift, trap, break up, and remove plaque along the gumline, providing an advanced clean. This dentist-inspired round brush head gives a tooth-by-tooth clean with specially engineered bristles to ensure optimal coverage on every tooth. The Oral-B replacement brush head has indicator bristles that signal when it is time to replace your brush head. Round cleans better** and new cleans best. The flosser heads are horrible. They are painful and tear up my mouth. How does Oral B get away with selling these detrimental, masochistic brush heads?

The flossing bristle separated from head while brushing and almost swallowed on 2nd usage. This was a waste of money as both heads went into trash. More importantly, this is a health hazard. I switched back to a manual toohbrush following this incident.

Thank you for sharing this with us, and we're so sorry to hear the bristles were coming off your brush head while brushing, Deb. Safety is our top priority, and all our products are thoroughly evaluated to be safe when used as directed. We agree it was best to discontinue using the brush head if the bristles were detaching and at risk of being swallowed. Your safety and satisfaction mean everything to us, and we'd like to learn more about your experience and see how we can help further. The added floss action pieces are quite painful and made me gums bleed. I would not buy it again but now I have 2 more.
1 reply from Oral-B team - 11 months ago
We're sorry to hear this, Maddy. With the many health and safety tests the brush heads undergo, this isn't something we'd expect. If you haven't already, we recommend that you discontinue using these brush heads. While this could be a sign of brushing too hard, our Safety Team would like to hear more, and make sure you're ok. When you have a chance, please give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

Ouch these ones hurt and cut my gums pay attention to the bristles before buying this one! they are not flat they hurt my gums! I had to buy a certain mouth wash for sores to help get my gums back to normal!!

We truly hope you’re feeling much better. Please know, we have many safety checks in place to ensure our products are safe to use. Our brushes come with soft bristles. If this is too hard, we also offer sensitive brush heads. Sometimes a new brush head may initially feel harder than your previous one, which has likely been used for 3 months or more. The new one should begin to feel softer after repeated use. Please also remember that when brushing you do not need to apply pressure. Do not press too hard or scrub -- let the brush do all the work. We’d really like to make a full report about your experience for our Safety Team, so when you have a chance, please give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

1 reply from Oral-B team - 2 years ago
When brushing, we want you to enjoy the process. We're so sorry to hear about your experience, but please know that while we have safety checks in place, in the first few days of using any electric toothbrush, your gums may bleed slightly. It should stop within a few days, but if you aren't doing so already, we suggest using less pressure, and if it persists for over 2 weeks, please discontinue use and talk to your dentist. Regardless, this isn't something we take lightly, and we'd love to make a report to our Safety Team. Please call us at (800) 566-7252.
