A: These toothbrushes are made from Polypropylene, Thermal Plastic Elastomer, and Nylon. The decals are made from Pigmented Thermoplastic Polymer. The plastic packaging used in U.S. packaging is #3 Plastic, PVC.

Our toothbrushes should be replaced every 3 months, so we assure you what you're describing isn't up to our high standards. If the bristles are splaying, this could be caused by brushing too hard -- too much pressure makes the bristles wear faster. Also rinsing a toothbrush under hot water, or soaking it in a solution, will soften the bristles and cause them to wear out more quickly. I should only buy in-store, I guess. I wanted a half length handle for an adult use travel brush. These "kid's" sized brushes are maybe a centimeter shorter than adult sized brushes. Actually I wouldn't want anyone younger than 6 trying to brush with these long handles - way too much leverage.
