worked great! i used it on my previous curly perm, and natural 4b new growth texture at the same time. no hair loss. kept it on my head for 12 minutes or so, from beginning of applying it to smoothing it. you don’t need to leave this on for long at all. shampooed 3x with provided shampoo (both shampoo and conditioner are great) and used the hair lotion. seriously, no hair loss! i was worried my hair would fall out in clumps since it had been processed before, but nope. everything turned out great :-)

It’s not good to get your hair bones straight if you like to wear a lot of different styles and that relaxer does not get your hair bones straight, but it gets it straight enough. This product is probably the worst thing you can put on your hair. I followed the instructions to a T and now my hair is completely fried... I can't brush it because it just keeps pulling chunks of my hair off.... save yourself time, money and hair because this is a terrible product.

Strand test is a must!
This product is mainly marketed towards black women because of hair compatibility and strength. With that being said, I am half white & half black. I had 3C hair to start and knew I’d get some damage going into this with fine coils. Reading the instructions, the strand test called for minimum 10-13 mins for fine hair. I tested for 10 and seen there was medium damage. Once applied to head I left on for 5 mins. My hair came out just as wanted, wavy! Would recommend BUT always strand test to modify timing for your hair type! Also, burning was very minor. I also made sure to wash 3x after & deep condition after.

Great Relaxer!
I've been self relaxing for about 15 years now. I've tried other brands, but always come back to ORS. This relaxer gets me straight 'enough' that I'm satisfied with the results. My nape is resistant and never fully relaxes, but I think that's just the way my texture is. I don't burn and I process for the recommended 18 minutes. I suggest you have a bottle of neatralizing shampoo on hand. The little packet provided doesn't specifically say it's neutralizing and you don't want to take any chances. All in all, this is a great product and I will continue to use it. I have 4A and 4C hair that's just past shoulder length.

Be careful of the ‘neutralizing’ shampoo in the box. I don't think it’s neutralizing the hair. I used the full package on my daughter's hair. Then used neutralizing shampoo that I already had at home, the lather was pink throughout her hair, and that indicated that the hair has NOT been neutralized. Be AWARE!

It worked like a texturized and not a straight relaxer 😭 on my 4c hair. If I used the string on my 4c hair which I did on my last big chop it fried my hair and I did less time compared to the instructions so I guess I’ll take the texlax with the added texture and can still make it straight when I want to and still have curls when I want to as well but still I wanted my hair straight LOL 😂 def easier to manage

Thank God I had another neutralizing shampoo!
Usually after a relaxer, my hair is soft and straight. After this ORS relaxer, my hair stuck to my head and was very hard, even after I shampooed twice, leaving shampoo on for 5 minutes to ensure proper neutralizing. My scalp still stung a little as well. Even after an in-shower conditioner and more of this brand’s shampoo, my hair was still hard. Fearing poor neutralizing and a pH problem, I grabbed leftover neutralizing shampoo from another relaxer and left it on for 5 minutes. Only then, did my hair soften and start getting back to normal and my scalp felt soothed and no longer had a stinging sensation. My hair seemed to have a residue removed. After that, I did not dare use their deep conditioner. I used my own. ORS has a lot of natural ingredients in its shampoo and relaxer, which I love, but it needs to focus on the basics of straightening and getting hair back to optimal pH after relaxing. Sometimes oils, butters, and other cutesy things can stop relaxers from working well or stop neutralizers from working well. Also, this brand does not put the shampoo in a bottle. They give you a packet (which does NOT say “neutralizing”), which is a hassle to use in the shower. The shampoo smells very good, but again… utility and effectivness are more important. My hair gets straighter and feels better with other relaxers. So this is my last time using this brand. I only tried it because the other brand I used for years was discontinued.
