So glad you still make the older bulb as a love my gooseneck OTT with windowsill clamp which my Mom had for years and then gave me when she moved into retirement apartment complex and few years ago.

I purchased two of these ott lite bulbs to replace the one my granddaughter busted (which I have had for almost 20 years). The replacement bulbs are not nearly as bright as the one I had been using. Nor are they as bright as the after market one I bought for immediate use until I received the actual ott lite bulbs. The ott lite bulbs I received cost at least three time more than the off brand. The off brand and the ott brand bulbs were all made in china. The only difference is the off brand put out a yellow color light, while the ott brand put out a white color light. I would have preferred a white color light, but I am using the yellow color for now since it is much brighter.

So glad this bulb is available still. My lamp no longer buzzes like an alarm clock. Works great and was delivered quickly.

There are two different 13W Ott bulbs that look nearly identical. This fact increases the difficulty level. Current standards have me expecting an easier user experience.

It is perhaps ingenious that Ott-Lite appears to have taken a standard GX23 2-pin lamp base on an otherwise standard 13W CFL and modified it with additional slots to make you exclusively return to Ott-Lite for lamp replacements. A standard CFL at a big box store is far less expensive but physically not compatible. See the photos. With the recent developments of LED lighting and unless you absolutely love your OttLite, I would suggest adding more cash to the already-necessary lamp bill and buy an entirely new flicker-free LED lamp, with multiple dimming settings, several light temperature options, variable lighting control, a better CRI (color rendering index) value and a longer-lasting light (advertised 50K hours LED, compared to 10-12K hours CFL). Do the math, the choice is seemingly obvious.
