I lay it on it's side on my passenger seat and it doesn't leak, even when I don't lock the handle down. We have used several sizes and I've been using the same two bottles for over 2 years with no issues!

I absolutely love this water bottle, I bought ones for all my kids and hubby, but this particular color seems to be defective, I’ve purchased two now and the spring loaded button you push to lock/release has fallen apart, sad to have to return my second one now and I guess I’ll have to buy another color. No one else in my family has had this problem so it must just be this color I guess.
