So disappointed! I usually love the OXO products but this one broke after only 3 batches of cookies. The fourth tried to keep it alive but it couldn’t be fixed (the part that moves the cookie dough out of the scoop) We ended up throwing it away.

I used this cookie scoop for all my Christmas cookies and it worked great! The 1.5 Tablespoon made just the right size of cookies and I loved they were all uniform in size which helped them cook evenly. A lot of my cookies were chilled and it did a great job scooping. It is a little pricey for a cookie scoop but worth it if it holds up over the years.

I have the same experience as many others - the mechanism just isn't substantial enough if your dough is chilled or otherwise firm. The gear slips and is then stuck in the wrong position basically rendering it useless. I definitely expected better at this price point. Put the $17 towards a Piazza instead. I have several and they've never given out on me.

Do not buy if you’re planning to actually use with cookie dough. This scooper broke on the first batch of cookie dough; the slider in the scoop slowing started moving outward not allowing the dough to release and eventually not even scoop up. My last scooper lasted 10+ years, I wish I could remember the brand.

This is my second scoop purchase as the first one broke immediately. I'm sure I had a defective one as it broke in dough that was soft. This one thankfully worked well but I'm not giving it 5 stars since the scraper on the scoop gets caught a lot and I have to continue to work it to get the dough out. I have another scoop from another brand and I don't have the same issue. Otherwise, the scoop is good, and appears sturdy.

Normally I have good luck with Oxo brand items but not this scoop. The gear wheel keeps going out of alignment and can't get the dough out of the scoop. Fix the alignment and within two clicks it's out again. Purchased the Zeroll EZ Orchid and love it. Will not buy this type of scoop again

Would give 0 stars if I could. Terrible product. I normally love oxo products so felt good purchasing this one without research. The scoop part stopped working the first time I used it. Unable to make it work again. Such a waste of money.

Normally, I would use a table spoon to scoop out a blob of dough, roll it between my hands to make a ball and then place it on the cookie sheet. With my new cookie scoop, I simply scoop the dough, squeeze the scoop, and each dough ball comes out nicely formed and a consistent size. I with I would have found this kitchen helper years ago and would recommend it to anyone who likes to bake cookies.

Being able to get perfect measurements and uniform balls of dough makes for more evenly baked cookies as well as more beautiful! This scoop is easy to use and the pinching handle is comfortable in your hand. Just scoop, pinch, release, and you have a perfect cookie dough ball waiting for baking!! Easy to clean up also! Rinse or toss in the dishwasher for a quick and easy clean! Again I highly recommend this scoop from the amateurs baker to the professionals!
