Q: How do you disable the child lock?

A: Confusingly, just to OPEN the door at any time, you CANNOT simply push the bottom latch button (as in older models). You first have to press a button marked "DOOR OPEN". Ugh

Hello there! We’re sorry to hear about the trouble with the microwave door not opening properly. What is causing the issue is the child-lock safety system. First you would need to press on the Door open button on the control panel and only afterwards on the mechanical button to open the door. If you wish to deactivate the child-lock safety system, we recommend pressing these buttons one after the other: please press Turbo Defrost, then Timer / Clock and then Popcorn. Now the door should open only using the mechanical button. We hope this helps! - F

My old Sharp microwave from 2008 finally had to be replaced and we decided to purchase this Inverter Microwave. I was excited about all the features on the new microwaves and I loved the style of this one. Unforunately, I received a defective one. We couldn't get it to cook frozen vegatables or potatoes. I tried sensor as well as timed cooking and the food would not get hot. At times I would set it for 2 minutes and it would just stop dead after 20 seconds - no beeps or anything. After 9 days I gave up and returned the microwave. I purchased a more expensive GE machine and have been very happy with it. Target made the return experience very easy.

Wow, what a difference . . . no more cold spots! Our last microwave was old and working well BUT . . . Panasonic tech is a game changer. I no longer have to reheat leftovers 2 or 3 times to get it heated evenly, so the inside isn't cold and the edges aren't overcooked. We also have been experimenting with the Sensor so it will cook to just the right level. We use it for everything from reheating our morning coffee to cooking dinner! :) really easy to use with intuitive buttons. Also easy to clean. So glad we chose this!!!!

The price for the quality was amazing, I don't understand the gripes with the reviews about the child lock mechanism I haven't had any issues with it whatsoever. The best microwave I've ever bought at this price point, all other microwaves that I was looking up with inverter technology costed almost twice as much. This was an extremely good buy in my opinion

I know a lot of the reviews had issues with the child lock. Fortunately, I do not need this feature so I just disabled it from the start and have had no issues. I love the fact that the interior light turns off shortly after opening the microwave and leaving it open. I like to air out the microwave right after I heat something up so having a light that shuts off is perfect for me. I know most people won't care about this but it was a really big plus for me.

Panasonic never disappoints! Got this microwave for my family and it works great. Absolutely love the inverter technology because it heats up my food evenly. The sensor cooking is convenient when I don’t know how long to heat for. Large enough for a family but small enough for the kitchen!

We’ve had our old Panasonic microwave for over 20 years. We’ve been trying to upgrade it but it just won’t give up, kept working so well. This microwave closely resembles the one we have so pulled the trigger and I’m so happy with it. My old microwave would heat up food in like 20-30 seconds. Most new microwaves I’ve used at other places would take minutes so was worried about that. To my delight, this new Panasonic microwave is the same as my old one. Heats up fast, maybe it’s the inverter technology? Saw a review about child lock and was hesitant too, but it’s so easy. You click the unlock button before opening and that’s it. Works great and my Panasonic loyalty continues.

Just got my new Panasonic microwave. Its a higher end model than I normally purchase. It really has all the options. Its a lot faster for heating kids quick meals, beverages and defrost meats. The turbo defrost was amazing. For the price, this microwave was well worth it. I will look at other Panasonic products to purchase.
