Q: How many amps does the microwave use when reheating?

A: About 6 amps. The formula is watts/volts=amps. So 700 watts divided by volts (using 115) = 6 amps. The standard voltage in the US you receive at your home is 110-120v.

A: Yes you can. I noticed that several reviewers weren't able to figure this function out and even the B&D team doesn't. I have this microwave. Power can be set anywhere from 1 (low) to 10 (high) To set the exact minutes and seconds and power you first push the power button then the minutes and seconds you desire. Example to cook at 100% for 1 minute and 45 seconds - Press power, then press 1, then press 4, then press 5 Example to cook at 50% for 1 minute and 45 seconds - Press power several times until the display says 5, then press 1, then press 4, then press 5

It gets the job done but it takes about 1.5-2 extra minutes than is typically required to heat all types of food items, even on the highest power setting, so keep this in mind. My first Black and Decker microwave lasted only 3 years. It buzzed and shorted out. I liked the design so i bought another. Not a great idea. Under 2 years later the SAME thing happened with this one. I mostly use is to reheat coffee and leftovers. Calling customer service offered me NO help. I see on the sticker the microwave was manufactured Jan '21. They asked if i still had my receipt... I will NOT buy another B+D prduct...

This microwave is plenty big to reheat a plate of food or a mug of coffee. I didn’t want anything bigger to take up space. For how small the microwave is, it’s still solid and doesn’t pull out when i open the door. I like the way the buttons press and the way the door opens. Seems to heat evenly and does so quickly.

Small but Powerful Microwave at a Great Price

Not sure why all the bad reviews. For the price it’s great. It’s not a $500 microwave, so don’t expect that, but it works like a microwave should work. I’ve had it for 3 months now. It heats up the food rather quickly. I find most items only require 30 seconds to 1 minute. It looks nice and at $50 it’s great. For small spaces there are only so many options and this one is great. The only cons are that the food does not heat evenly, but not the biggest deal. I stir or rotate the food when needed. Also, the microwave doesn’t say “end” when it’s done heating food. So don’t walk away and forget you warmed up food. Oops. Haha. Otherwise, it’s a great little microwave and a good price.
