Description

Philips Avent Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. Use Philips Avent Natural bottles only with Philips Avent Natural nipples. Includes: 4 Natural Response nipples, flow 1. SCY961/04

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

The no-drip feature and wide shape help mimic breastfeeding, making it easier for babies to transition between breast and bottle. However, some guests experienced frustration with slow milk flow, leading to longer feeding times. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Avent Natural Response Nipple set courtesy of Stellar Product Testing Panel. These nipples have a lot of great features that work well for me and my baby. The wide mouth made it easy for my baby to get a good latch. I like that it doesn’t leak when tipping over, the baby has to suck to get the milk. The one piece design also makes them easy to clean, which is essential with an infant. Most importantly, I was able to switch between this nipple and breastfeeding without any confusion for my baby.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this for free through the stellar product testing panel in exchange for my honest review! I was curious to try these because the Natural Response claim had me wondering if they’d really be that different. After using them for a few weeks, i think they’re pretty close to perfect once you get the right flow. The no drip tip is actually the real deal surprisingly! My baby can take little breaks to breathe or look around without milk leaking everywhere. It makes feedings less stressful and less messy. Honestly, it saved us from a ton of outfit and bib changes. I love how the nipples don’t just pour milk out, so you really need suction. The feedings became smoother and way more relaxed once we figured out the right flow level. The wide shape helped my baby to latch easily, and I think it helped reduce nipple confusion when we switch between bottle and breastfeeding. The silicone is soft but sturdy, and I haven’t had any damage even after lots of washes. Speaking of which, The wide opening helps a lot, and the anti-colic valve pops out easily for a good deep clean. Overall, I found that I loved the control it gave my baby the most. It really mimics breastfeeding in the sense that they decide when to drink and when to rest, not the bottle. That, and the no-drip feature, really gave me peace of mind.

    Combo Feeder Nipples

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this nipple set from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This truly lives up to the claim of no drip, to test the milk temperature I had to squeeze the nipple to have it come out. But it was easy for my little one to pace their feed. My baby is a combo feeder with breast and bottle for fortification. He was easily able to suckle on this and not gag, the nipple shape and design as mentioned is similar to the breast and made it easy to transition and not get confused. One of the things I also liked is that the nipple is not flimsy and doesnt seem like it easy break with baby or toddlers nibbling on them.

The flow is so slow. with this brand I would definitely start at a higher number nipple and work your way down accordingly. The bottles come with a size 3 I believe. I wish it came in a pack where you have the mixed nipple sizes so you can try out what works for baby. Evenflo has that option. Now I’m stuck with a bunch I can’t use since they don’t work for my baby.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you Stellar Product testing panel for sending me the avent natural response nipple set. I plan to continue to try and use the nipples. I’m impressed with the thickness of rubber but it has not been my babies favorite nipple. He is breastfed and he don’t seem to stay latched like he does with other brands. I felt like the flow was slow even though he is only three months old.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 9 month old is primarily breastfed, but we have a few bottles on hand and this one has quickly become our go to. I love that she can easily nurse at her own pace, and milk isn’t going anywhere when she isn’t sucking. Especially as a distracted little eater, this makes bottle feeding so much less messy! Cleaning this nipple set seemed easier than normal because it is wide enough get my bottle brush up in there. I did receive this nipple set from Stellar Product Tssting Panel, and will purchase more because of the wide base, easy to clean, and no mess for my distracted baby!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Testing Panel for providing us with this great Avent natural response nipple to try! My one month old has been exclusively breastfed and it is time to start incorporating bottles for pumped milk. The no drip tip was great to allow her to control the flow just like she would at the breast. The no drip tip also prevented any leaks or spills. She has no issues going between breast and bottle feeding with this nipple. It takes her about 30 minutes to drink 3 ounces with a quick burp in the middle. The wide shape of the nipple was super easy to clean and dry, making mom’s clean up quick and simple!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This nipple set was way too difficult of a flow for my newborn baby. She had to work quite hard during her feeding to receive a little bit of milk. I think that she would be more equipped to drink from this bottle/nipple set when she is a few more weeks old. I did like the wide shape and that it resembled a breast. I was given this nipple set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Avent Natural Response Nipple set as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. These nipples are overall very nice. My baby is a mixture of breast and bottle fed, but mostly breast recently. She is not the most coordinated with bottles or pacifiers, so it took some time for her to adjust to using the nipple. She did not choke from having too much of a flow. She was able to suckle and take breaks appropriately. I wanted to lean towards wider based nipples with her, so that it felt more comparable to breastfeeding and that seems to have gone well for us in this situation. Once she gets the correct latch on the nipple, she is able to drink from the bottle efficiently. I would say with the wider base, these nipples are a bit easier to clean than skinny ones. Overall, the nipple worked well for us and we will continue to use it as we transition to bottle feeding more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with the Avent Natural Response Nipple set. I wanted to love these nipples since they paired with the Avent glass bottle I’ve really enjoyed using, but unfortunately they didn’t work for us. These nipples created a very shallow latch for my baby, which was especially difficult during a fragile time in our breastfeeding journey. I’m working hard to move toward exclusive breastfeeding, and this nipple shape made things harder. My lactation consultant specifically advised me to discontinue use due to its impact on my baby’s latch and my comfort. As a result, I can’t recommend it to other nursing families, especially those who are working through latch issues or trying to establish a strong breastfeeding relationship. While the nipple is easy to clean and well-made, that alone isn’t enough to justify using it in our case. We’ve chosen not to continue with this product moving forward. I do hope Avent explores alternative nipple shapes or flow options in the future that are more supportive of breastfeeding goals.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience with the SCY961/44 Natural Response Nipple set, we truly value your feedback. As this is the extra slow flow nipple, we understand how important it is to achieve a comfortable and effective latch for successful breastfeeding. If you're finding that the slower flow isn't meeting your baby's needs, you might consider trying a nipple with a higher flow rate. If you decide you'd like to try an Avent faster flow nipple or if you need advice and assistance regarding our products, please feel free to reach out to us at any time. We're sorry to hear that this product did not meet your expectations during a sensitive time in your breastfeeding journey. Thank you for choosing Avent, and we wish you the best in establishing a strong breastfeeding relationship with your baby. We are available on social media, Facebook/Instagram (@Philips) or X (@PhilipsCare). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a mom we want the best for our babies, and these are the best nipples we have tried! Here are the pros: These nipples make it very easy to transition from breastfeeding to bottle feeding. The shape makes it easy for my baby to keep the bottle latched in her mouth, others we tried caused her to gag. The flow is perfect for baby to get the right amount of milk at the right speed. The material is very durable, and easy to clean and sterilize. I love these nipples and don’t have any cons! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Avent Natural Response Nipple set for free to try out, and overall, I was really pleased with it! I gave it a 4 out of 5 because it worked very well for us, with just a couple of minor things I’d tweak. The no-drip tip is a great feature — I noticed it helped reduce mess and waste during feedings, which I really appreciated. My baby was able to comfortably pause to swallow and breathe while feeding without any leaking or dribbling, making the experience smoother for both of us. The flow rate felt like a good, natural pace for my little one. It wasn’t too fast or too slow, and it mimicked breastfeeding well, which helped with our combination feeding routine. I could see this pace being perfect for a baby who’s transitioning between breast and bottle, or for times when you want to encourage a more natural, paced feed. I also liked the wide shape and soft feel of the nipple — it made latching easy for my baby and seemed comfortable for them. Cleaning was simple too, with no hard-to-reach spots, which is a big plus for busy parents. What I liked most about these bottle nipples was how closely they resembled the breastfeeding experience. The natural feel and responsive flow helped make feeds feel calm and familiar for my baby. I’d definitely recommend them to other parents looking for a bottle nipple that supports a more natural feeding rhythm.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I finally found a nipple that actually works for my baby! The best part is that it doesn't flood her with milk, so she can feed at her own pace - pausing to breathe and swallow just like she does while breastfeeding. It's really helped keep our breastfeeding journey on track, and it's been a game-changer for letting others feed her comfortably, too. One downside, though, is that I can't really tell much of a difference between the size 1 and 2 nipples. It's a little confusing when trying to figure out which one is best as she grows, since they seem to work pretty much the same. That said, the wide nipple shape supports a good latch, and it's super easy to clean. It's held up well through constant washing and sterilizing. Overall, a solid choice! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me the opportunity to try this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These Avent bottle nipples are great! I was pleasantly surprised to how they do not drip at all even when the bottle is flipped upside down, which is now my favorite feature. My breastfed baby did great with these nipples as she was able to control the flow. Although my daughter is not used to the wide shape of this bottle nipple, she was able to grasp the concept pretty quickly. There may be a learning curve if your baby is used to a narrow bottle and nipple. These nipples are easy to clean, which as a busy mom I truly appreciate. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this nipple set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel! My baby directly nurses while with her mother and drinks expressed milk at daycare. She has drank bottled milk for a while, so this is not a new skill for her. Unfortunately, my baby refused to drink from these nipples. Historically, she uses a different nipple shape and had issues latching. It is possible that a different flow would better suited for her. I expect that a few sizes would need trialed to best match the flow rate she receives while directly nursing. As far as design goes, we enjoyed how easy the nipples were to clean. They also didn’t leak which was great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked this natural-shaped nipple. I combined this with a natural glass bottle and it was the perfect combo for my baby. I have been a product tester for awhile with Steller Panel and have tried out many different types of bottles. Every baby is different but this bottle and nipple combo has been the best for my breastfed baby. I was already breastfeeding big brother when this baby was born so my milk was too much for the baby to have directly from my chest (it was causing a bit of coughing up and stomach issues) we needed a solution to control flow to their tiny tummy. I am so thankful we had these nipples on hand because the flow and shape were perfect for baby. I would recommend them to any new parent!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Phillips Avent Natural Response Nipple works beautifully for my 2 month old. The ergonomic shape is breast-like and allowed switching between breast and bottle feeding a breeze. The flow of the nipping allowed my baby to easily pull out milk at her own pace. The wide shape of the nipple allowed for very easy cleaning both in a bottle sterilizer and by hand washing. I would absolutely recommend!! we were generously sent this from the Stellar Product Testing Program.

As a first-time mom who is breastfeeding and looking to introduce a bottle, the slow flow nipple was the perfect starting point. It helped my baby transition smoothly and learn how to bottle-feed without any frustration. She caught on so quickly, and I truly believe it’s because of the design of it. We received this product from Stellar Panel to test, and we’ve loved it from the start. My daughter is now 11 months old and still using the same set—we’ve never had any issues with bottle preference or over breast. Highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been really happy with the Avent Natural Response nipples. The no-drip tip is makes prepping bottles mess-free, even during late-night feeds. What I really appreciated was how the flow let my baby pause naturally to breathe and swallow, without the milk gushing out. She’s 3 months old, and the flow was just right for her. She stayed relaxed and content through each feeding. The wide, soft nipple shape is definitely my favorite feature. It closely mimics the breast, which was super important for us to avoid nipple confusion since she’s mostly breastfed. I also found it easy to clean—the wide opening made that part way less of a hassle. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this nipple set. Overall, we’ve had a great experience and I would definitely recommend these nipples to other breastfeeding parents looking for a bottle that supports a natural, baby-led feeding rhythm.
