Description

Philips Avent Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. Use Philips Avent Natural bottles only with Philips Avent Natural nipples. Includes: 4 Natural Response nipples, flow 1. SCY961/04

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Filament of silicone comes out milk flow hole

1 out of 5 stars
Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
Ctd - 3 months ago, Verified purchaser
A small filament of silicone periodically comes out of the milk flow hole. Once it happened while my baby was sucking on the nipple. The filament looks like a small clear strand of spaghetti. We have had 2 of the 4 nipples do this so far. It's strange since we inspected and washed all 4 nipples when they arrived and did not notice this issue, and have since reinspected them all but did not notice anything. Be careful using these!

I’ve had the same experience as other reviewers— my newborn was feeding for 30 minutes and hardly any milk was gone from the bottle. It took over an hour for her to eat 2ounces. Something is wrong with these! Very disappointing.

These are just awful now! Hardly a thing comes out no matter how hard our baby sucks. 20 minutes to finish half an ounce and then she spews spit up. They have changed them since our first baby. We went to flow 3 (she is 5 days old) and it is going much better with minimal spit up.

20 Minutes of Feeding and not a drop came out

My girlfriend and I bought flow 1 nipples for our newborn because the provided flow 2 nipples were too much at times. 20 Minutes of feeding and not a drop came out. I wouldn't waste my money on flow 1 nipples.

Hi there, Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. This is not the experience we wish you to have with the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple. We suggest you try a few possible causes and solutions to see if you can fix the issue. Inspect the nipple for any blockages or clogs. Sometimes, milk residue or formula can accumulate and obstruct the flow. Clean the nipple thoroughly and ensure there are no obstructions. Squeeze the nipple to check if milk flows freely. If it doesn't, try gently stretching the nipple or massaging it to encourage flow. Ensure that the bottle and nipple are properly assembled. Make sure the nipple is securely attached to the bottle and there are no leaks or loose parts. Make sure you're using the appropriate nipple size for your baby's age and feeding needs. Philips Avent offers different flow rates for their nipples, so you may need to switch to a higher-flow nipple if the current one is too slow. If you have any additional questions, please get in touch via Social Media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and Twitter (@PhilipsCare). Don’t worry, if you don’t use Social Media, you can also reach out to us via the contact page: www.Philips.com/contact. Hope to speak to you soon! Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

These nipples are great because they do not leak when the bottle is tipped. The flow was perfect for a newborn.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a first time mom trying to EBF I was struggling as my baby has a tongue & lip tie. He struggled to properly latch leaving us both frustrated and helpless. Finally I gave in and began introducing bottles. I found that many nipples were too quick for him or he disliked the shape. Thankfully I received a set of Avent bottles with Flow 1 nipples as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. From the very first use my baby was in LOVE and I could finally breathe. This nipple was slow enough and mimicked my breast enough for him to comfortably eat. He was able to pause to swallow and breathe without the nipple leaking causing him to cough. I will say my newborn quickly outgrew this nipple as it was very slow- but it was great for introducing him to a bottle! I also loved the convenience of the wide shape in my hand during feedings. It feels very natural and comfortable. The bottle is also very easy to clean! Thankfully it has minimal parts making it quick and painless. I am so thankful for this bottle and nipple!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I struggled to find a bottle for our breastfed four month old, until recently when we happened to receive this nipple and bottle from Stellar Product Testing Panel. The shape of this nipple has been perfect for our baby. It is the perfect size and has a gradual slope. He is able to easily latch and stay latched throughout the feeding. He is able to pause as needed without drowning in the milk. He is successfully taking the bottle now, thankfully, since I am back at work. These nipples are also super easy to remove from the plastic to clean and pop back on. I am so glad we have found a bottle that works!

Breastfeeding mom hit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product through the stellar product testing panel. I think that having a variety of different nipple flows is a must. I kept different ones for each bottles and I loved this one. Having the no drop tip was especially great for those bottles that have the liquid gold of Breast milk. This was a little slower flow for my baby but for a newborn it would work better. I believe the the flow for 3months would work out better. The wide shape was good for a breastfed baby that is use to a bigger area and the fact it’s so easy to clean made it a top favorite for me. No issues with this product at all.

Great Nips

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple set. My newborn took extremely well to this nipple and they were able to synchronize the suck, swallow, breath reflex well. I love that when this bottle is tipped over, it does not drip and waste precious breast milk. The shape of this nipple is wide and imitates the breast well, so there is no confusion. I love that there are so many nipple flow options and the ability to buy them at local stores incase you need more. I absolutely recommend these nipples and bottles!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the many options of flows that these bottles come in. The no drip tip is great- we take numerous breaks to burp as we have a gassy baby. He adapted to these nipples easily and seems to swallow and take breaks easily. The flow on these nipples seem stronger than they say- I would size down personally. I like the shape and feel of these nipples. They seem most similar to breast which is important to us as we are breast and bottle feeding. The nipples and bottles are easy to clean and seem quality. I received these as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. But I plan on purchasing more myself!

Great nipple but currently not for us

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start out by saying I received this product from stellar panel in exchange for my honest review. Let me start out by saying we used Avent bottles with my second son due to his reflux and are big fans. However, with our third son, we are still trying to figure out what works for him. Unfortunately not only does he have reflux but he also has a lip and tongue tie (was just revised) as well as a oral motor issues. We were very hopeful this bottle and nipple would work out for him. For the most part this nipple and bottle combo worked the best out of all the ones we tested. We will continue to test out the bottle now that he has had his lip and tongue tie revised to see if it works better for us or not. Let's talk about the flow of the nipple. My son did great with the flow of the nipple. It was very handy to have different sizes to test out. We experienced no issue with it leaking when he would stop sucking. I do think it is valuable for all parents to try a variety of sized nipples to see what works best for them and their kiddo. As always, Avent bottles and nipples are very easy to clean. It's one of the many things I like about the brand. Overall, would I recommend this to other parents? Yes, I would. We will certainly give this nipple and bottle another try!

Perfect flow for an aggressive eater

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I pump and breastfeed my 8-week-old baby. He’s quite the aggressive eater and will occasionally try to drink too fast, resulting in spit-up and even choking! I’ve tried several popular, name brand bottles with no success. The level 1 nipples from Philips Avent are the only ones that prevent him from choking! Yes, it takes extra long to do a feed with these nipples, but they work so well at pacing my hungry baby, I can’t complain. If you have an aggressive eater, try these! I think you’ll love them. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great basic starter set for a newborn especially a formula feeding baby. This nipple is not great for a breastfed combo fed baby though. I do love that it’s easy to clean because there are less pieces than some other bottles out there. I received this bottle set from the Stellar Parent Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review.

Too slow of flow

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a 4 pack of the size 1 flow nipples from Avent from Stellar Product Testing Panel. Avent bottles were a favorite of my first son 3 years ago so was excited to receive these nipples to use with the bottles we had from him. My son has been very frustrated with how slow they flow though. I thought it would be great to have a variety of nipples for him, but he grows tired and frustrated after taking too long to finish his bottle with these. We love Avent as a company and their bottles, but these nipples were too slow for my 6 week old babe.

Baby struggled with this one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a breastfeeding mom of 4, it’s always been important to me that my kiddos are willing and able to take a bottle when necessary (either by dad or another caregiver or by me when nursing out and about might be difficult). It can sometimes be challenging to figure out what will work best for a little one, but thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel, I was able to test this one out to find the right fit. But this bottle proved to be a bit of a challenge for my 3 month old. I loved that baby still had to ”work” at this bottle with the no drip nipple, but sometimes that extra “work” meant he’d get frustrated when trying to eat. Once, he’d get the hang of it, he was able to comfortably pause to swallow without being bombarded with more milk coming. Perhaps this flow was a bit too slow, and would be better suited for a newer born babe, and I would definitely prefer to try one size up for my little man. Other things to note, were that the wide nipple and bottle made it so easy to clean and was very comfortable to hold (and it still fit nicely in the diaper bag). While my baby May have struggled to “latch” onto this bottle, it still has many great features! Worth the try!

Great for 5 week old

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this item as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The size 1 nipples were great for my newborn baby as the ones that came with the bottle (size 2) had too fast of a flow for his age so the size 1’s were perfect. He is only 5 weeks old and I think this size will be good for the next couple of weeks. He is mainly breastfeeding with a bottle here and there as needed and has no issues switching back and forth between breast and bottle.

My newborn easily transitioned from breastfeeding to this bottle! We found the size 2 nipple flow worked better for her than the 1. I love that this bottle can grow with her with different nipple flows. Beautiful sleek design, highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this bottle nipple set from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. These nipples are the best on the market! As a mom of a little one who has terrible reflux these are a dream. These flow 1 are perfect to allow my baby to pace feed without eating too fast. The top is no drip which helps her to pause and swallowing during feedings. No choking ever! The wide shape nipples make it easy for her to feed from and easy to clean. My go to favorite nipple and bottles- coming from a new mom who has tried them all!

Prevents bottle preference

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These bottles/nipples are great. I received them as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and they've become my go-to bottles. I love the wide neck (makes it easy to add formula or pour in milk from storage bags!) and the slow-flow nipples make my baby work harder for the milk. This helps prevent bottle preference (i.e. the baby not wanting to breastfeed) and also prevents overfeeding. I liked that this pack came with a couple of different nipple flows so that we could pick the right one for us. Our baby is 1 month old and we found that size 1 worked best, but I expect to graduate to size 2 in a few months. The nipple shape mimics the shape of a breast and my baby feeds very comfortably from it. One of the biggest difference I noticed between these bottle and others I've used is that my baby chokes less on the milk during the feed because she has to work hard to pull it out - this really helps with my anxiety level during the feed because I'm not constantly worrying about her choking! Would definitely recommend these bottles to my friends!
