Description

Philips Avent Glass Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus, baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. This Natural Philips Avent bottle is made of premium quality borosilicate glass, a BPA free material. It is heat and thermal shock resistant, so it can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed and is easy to wash and sterilize. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. We recommend using the Philips Avent Natural baby bottle with Philips Avent Natural bottle nipples. Includes: 2 8oz Glass Natural bottle with Natural Response nipple flow 3. SCY913/02
What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple: It is totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.
We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.
1) US #1 selling bottle brand, based in part on Circana scan data for 52 weeks ending 01/07/2024 using Philips custom definitions.
2) Premium quality borosilicate glass. Thermal shock resistant, heat resistant, and suitable for sterilization.

Leaks so bad!

Why do these bottles leak so badly??? It’s almost impossible to get the lid on perfectly straight but even if you do they might still leak. We’ve been drenched so many times. So much wasted breast milk. The lid can be screwed on all the way, you can test it and still end up with milk leaking from where it screws on. They’re good besides that but this is a horrible flaw. I’ve bought multiple packages and they all do it. This should not be a thing! Fix this!! After 5 months I’ve had enough, I’ll be switching bottles.

I like that there is a glass option and it sort of fits on my pump. I really dislike that it causes gas in my baby and I really hate that the cap is so easy to come off. It barely screws on, with the simplest of nudges it can come off and spill

Leaks Unexpectedly

I have never experienced a bottle that leaks the way these do. You can check the seal three times over and it could still leak out mid feed. Very frustrating as a mother who strictly pumps.

Detrimental hairline cracks in the bottles

Our baby loves this bottle for feeding and we have purchased 7 of these 8oz glass bottles. But, recently we found hairline cracks on all of the glass bottles, which is kind of making us skeptical to use them for feeding. We are not sure if this is safe for feeding since tiny minute glass particles which are not visible can cause harm to the baby. Philip Avent should have include some sort of an indicator in the design of the bottles so that we can readily understand that the bottle should be replaced.

I got this product for my baby shower. We have used it for the past 2 months. My husband made a bottle for my daughter the bottom of the bottle came off. The bottle didn’t shatter or anything. The bottom just broke off. I have all the pictures. I’m not sure how this can happen.

Hi, Thank you for bringing this to our attention, it must have been a great gift and it is so sad to see this happen. We take the quality of our products and especially the safety of our customers very seriously and we are glad that the bottle did not shatter or injure anyone. One reason that might have happened is the sudden change of the glass temperature. However, we would like to look into it for you and find a way to resolve this issue. No shatterproof?

Not shatterproof. Ive been using the bottle for over a year now I was glad to see additional nipples such as the sippy and straw tips. Last night my son dropped it and it completely shattered the glass shards even cut him. I would like to still recommend and use this product but I would like to see a silicone cover to protect from shattering. Also I would praise that they were shatter proof because there has been countless times where I drop it even on pavement and it never shattered, so I'm not sure if maybe the glass gets worn out or what happened to its durability because it wasn’t a hard drop at all and it just went into a pieces.

Hi, Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we are sorry to hear about your experience with the bottle shattering. Your son’s safety and well-being are our top priorities, and we apologize for the distress this has caused. We value your suggestion regarding the silicone cover to protect the bottle from shattering and will pass this feedback on to our product development team. It’s important for us to understand why the glass broke despite previous durability, and we would appreciate the opportunity to investigate further. Please contact us directly to discuss this issue in more detail and to explore options for replacing your bottle. You can reach us via social media on Facebook (facebook.com/Philips), Instagram (instagram.com/Philips), or X (twitter.com/PhilipsCare), or through our Support Page (usa.philips.com/c-w/support-home/support-contact-page). I check the bottle with a tilt test before feeding baby yet they leak my hard earned milk all over baby. Actually this morning they wasted 2 of 5 ounces on baby instead on in baby. I hate these bottles. If you have any updates to this issue I’d love to hear about it

The Plastic Fasteners

The plastic fasteners, holding the nipple, do not lock in place after a couple washes. We use a baby brezza to clean and sanitize our bottles. We do not use the dishwasher or boiling water but Philips’ plastic fasteners are so cheap they must warp during the brezza wash. Even though there are some benefits to using these bottles, they become unusable once the fastener no longer works. Don’t waste your money. They don’t even offer replacement fasteners, have to buy all new sets. You just end up with a bunch of extra glass bottles and nipples. You must wash the fasteners each time because of bacteria babies carry. Philips will never be a good or great company, just average because they dabble in everything from toothbrushes to lights…

The lids leak constantly. I can’t tell you got often they’ve leaked on my baby and we’ve had to change her clothes. Not ideal ever, especially in the middle of the night. I like the natural response nipple but Avent really needs to improve their design to stop the lid from leaking. I noticed a lot of others have the same complaint.
1 reply from Philips Consumer Care team - 1 year ago
Hello there, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your Philips Avent Glass Natural Response Baby Bottle is leaking. We would like to inform you that incorrect assembly is the cause of leakage in 50% of cases. Please ensure that the nipple is properly inserted through the screw ring and is securely tightened on the bottle without being overtightened. Wet glass bottles can be particularly difficult to close as they may slip. Therefore, it is best to dry the bottle before closing it. If these tips do not help or if you need further assistance, please reach out to us via social media. We are available on Facebook (@Philips) and X (@PhilipsCare). Hi there, We are sorry to hear that your Philips Avent Glass Natural Response Baby Bottle leak. Leakage is caused by the wrong assembly in 50% of the cases. Make sure the nipple is pulled correctly through the screw ring and the screw ring is tightened sufficiently on the bottle without overtightening. Please refer to the following video on how to assemble the bottles correctly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOUkxMBytfU. I initially loved my glass natural response baby bottles, because they allowed me to bottle feed and breastfeed with no nipple confusion. However 2 weeks into using them they started leaking. You can’t tighten the lids too much or they leak and ruin the threads on the ring, but if you don’t tighten them enough they loosen up while you’re feeding the baby and leak or spill. It is very disheartening and exhausting when you’re struggling to maintain and adequate breast milk supply. I wanted to love these bottles, but I have no confidence in them.
1 reply from Philips Consumer Care team - 3 years ago
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We’re sorry to hear the natural response bottle has not lived up to your expectations. We understand that leaking bottles should not be something you’re worrying about. Allow us to share some troubleshooting tips. Firstly, when the bottles aren’t assembled correctly they might leak from the lid. Please make sure to follow the right instructions provided in the manual. Also, it’s possible that while cleaning the teats and the screws the wrong detergent was used. If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook and Twitter. Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website www.philips.com/support. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I were looking to buy new bottles, and were thrilled when we found out that Stellar Product Testing Panel was sending these to us to test. We had been planning on purchasing these bottles even before they were sent to us. We’ve been very happy with them overall. Both my 9 month old and 2 year old took these bottles quickly and liked them. The wide shape of the nipple seemed to be very easy for them to take. These nipples also seem to do a good job of preventing gas issues. These bottles are super easy to take apart and clean, and I love the fact that they are made of glass. It lets me have peace of mind about what goes on and in my kids’ bodies. The glass seems to be pretty durable too, which is important when the unavoidable drops happen. They have held up very well so far. Make sure to align the breather valve on the nipple with the notch on the nipple ring.

Great Bottles for Babies of All Ages

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and my wife and I were thoroughly pleased with these Philips Avent glass natural bottles. We have used their plastic bottles before and our 9-month old has had very few issues taking and feeding on either of these bottles. We really like the idea of using glass bottles to avoid the potential side effects of plastic. They are quality bottles designed to be quickly and easily assembled which helps when your baby is losing it. The only con I found using glass over plastic is that the glass bottles are a bit heavier and were a little more challenging for our 9-month old to hold to feed himself. It wasn't long before he got used to them though. The natural flow nipples are great as well and have helped a ton with his reflux! We've found them to be a bit wider which makes getting a good seal easy. Our son has very few issues with them which has been a huge plus. I would recommend these Philips Avent glass natural bottles and nipples to anyone looking to try to find a solution to their babies' colic or reflux symptoms.
