  • Natural Response nipple supports your baby's natural drinking rhythm:
  • Baby controls the pace of the milk flow, just like breastfeeding

  • Includes: 4x Natural Response nipples, extra slow flow (Flow 1)

Description

Philips Avent Natural Response baby bottle nipple lets babies control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple's unique opening and tip only release milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm.

Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple that mimics the soft feel of a breast. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy.

Every baby feeds differently and develops at their own pace. We’ve designed a range of flow rates so you can find the perfect one for your baby and personalize your bottle.

We have moved to a pace-based flow navigation system. The Natural Response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's development. Start with the nipple that comes with the bottle. Try a lower flow if milk is leaking from baby’s mouth or baby is gulping. Try a higher flow if baby is playing with the nipple instead of drinking or seems frustrated. It is totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new feeding bottle.

Use Philips Avent Natural baby bottles only with Philips Avent Natural Response nipples.

Philips reduced the carbon footprint by switching nipple packs to 100% responsibly sourced paper packaging. The result is 300 tons less plastic per year¹ and 88% less fossil fuel use², minimizing the impact on the planet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These Avent natural response nipples are the best! My baby is breastfed and bottle fed, so I do worry about nipple confusing or her not taking the breast after regularly drinking from bottles. These nipples lead to no nipple confusion at all with her. I also really appreciate the little amount of pieces there are, making them super easy to clean! There is no places for hidden milk residue and they can easily be popped into my bottle sterilizer daily with no problems. Another thing I appreciate about these nipples is that there is not a need for paced bottle feeding. I no longer need to worry about the angle I tilt the bottle because she has control over the flow. When using these nipples to feed her she regularly stops and breathes on her own without me needing to tip the bottle down. Giving her control over the flow helps prevent an upset belly or spit ups. It does not drip out when she is not drinking which helps prevent messes. I have received this product for free in exchange for my honest review from Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The nipples were great for my 11-month-old—he used the 5 flow, and it worked perfectly for his feeding pace. I received these as a part of Stellar Product Testing Panel. The no-drip tip was a big plus, especially for daycare, since it helped prevent leaks and messes. He was able to comfortably pause to swallow and breathe during feeds, and the flow felt just right for his age and feeding needs. The wide shape of the nipple was also a nice feature; it seemed comfortable for him and was easy for me to clean. What I liked most about these nipples was that they didn’t leak, making them super reliable and daycare-friendly.

The perfect natural flow

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My baby has been using avent natural bottles basically since he was born! They were great right from the start, but at about 5 months my son started to need a faster flow nipple, so we increased to a 4! The 4 flow was very good but still not fast enough for him, as my natural breastfeeding flow tends to be very fast, so that’s what he’s become accustomed to. Thanks to Stellar Panel I was able to try out these Avent Natural Nipple Set 5. My baby took to them right away, and seemed to be getting more milk each swallow! This not only reduced our bottle feeding time, but also reduced his swallow amount and therefore the amount of gas he had to fight. I love how easy these nipples are to clean and sanitize, and I love seeing how the inside of the nipple controls the flow. My favorite part about these nipples, is how close to the breast they are! In my opinion, these are by far the most breast-like nipples on the market. My breastfed baby took to these bottles and nipples no problem. Thank you Phillips Avent for creating the perfect nipple for our babies bottles.

No drip nipple thats still easy for baby to drink

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this nipple set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We're fans of the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple Set. We've used them with both PPSU and glass Avent bottles. Pros: 1) No drip. Quite often, the bottle might fall over OR the baby is just chewing at the nipple and not actively drinking. It's great that this nipple does not create a mess, OR cause any gagging for the baby. If you squeeze the tip with your fingers, you can see how multiple thin streams flow out. This is what happens when baby sucks on it. 2) Pressure release valve. The nipple has one pressure release valve that makes it possible for baby to continuously drink without a break when they are very hungry. You can hear the air puttering through the valve at a smooth rate, as well as bubbles forming as the air need to pass through the milk while the bottle is upside down in baby's mouth. Don't worry about the bubbles - they don't cause any boating or gas. 3) easy to clean: I like that this doesn't have any extra parts (like an "anti-colic" attachment). We washed them with hand, and put them in the steam sterlizer + dryer and they have help up well. 4) each nipple has a flow rate number embossed on the clear silicone. It's slightly hard to read / find, but useful to keep your nipples organized as you graduate from slower to faster nipple. We used flow rate 4 at age 6m+ and it worked well. Previously we also use flow 2 and flow 3. 4) My 8mo old has a few front teeth now and the nipples have still held up well. Cons 1) Very hard to come up with cons for this one. Maybe the groove around the nipple that seals against the plastic ring can be easier to dry as some water can sit there unless you shake it off.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Avent Natural Response Nipple Set is a total win in our house! The no-drip tip keeps milk off my baby’s face (and my clothes), giving him time to pause, breathe, and actually enjoy feeding. The flow rate is perfect—finally! No more milk floods or frustrated crying. He controls the pace, just like breastfeeding, which made transitioning so much easier. The wide, natural shape mimics the real deal, and bonus: super easy to clean. What I love most? My baby feels calm and in control, and I feel like I can breathe too. A must-try for any mama! I was given this nipple set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These avent natural response nipples are fantastic for bottle fed babies. They mimic natural breastfeeding and theres no confusion at all! The no drip tip, is a feature that I've been waiting to see on bottles! Baby had no issue breathing and swallowing and looked completely comfortable taking pauses as needed. The nipples are easy to clean as the base is wide. The wide base also makes for a deep latch which makes mama very happy!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had the opportunity to try the Avent Natural Response Nipple Set and were really happy with how it worked for our baby. The no-drip tip was one of the standout features. It allowed our baby to feed at their own pace without milk leaking in between, which helped them comfortably pause to breathe and swallow. This made feeding feel more natural and relaxed. The flow was gentle and seemed just right for our baby at this stage. It wasn’t too fast or too slow, which made for a calm feeding experience. For younger babies or those transitioning from breastfeeding, this flow rate could be a great fit. The wide shape and soft feel of the nipple were very similar to a natural latch, which our baby seemed to take to right away. It also made cleaning simple, especially since there weren’t any tricky grooves or hard-to-reach areas. What I liked most about this nipple set was how it supported a more natural and controlled feeding experience. It felt thoughtfully designed for both parent and baby comfort. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Avent Natural Response Nipples to parents looking for something that supports responsive feeding and mimics a natural rhythm. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this nipple set.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The avent natural response nipples are virtually leak proof when my baby is slinging her bottle around and upside down. I don't have to worry about them leaking in her bassinet or her car seat! She is a breast fed baby and the avent bottles/nipples are the only ones she will use. She has control of the flow and can pause when she needs to. They are easy to clean and come in a variety of sizes/flow. Our faves for sure! We got the size 4/fast flow from stellar product testing panel and now that baby is almost 9 months it is the perfect flow for her!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Is your baby having trouble bottle-feeding? Do you feel like the milk let-down is too fast or too slow? If you answered yes, then look no further. I was selected by the Stellar Product Testing Panel to test out the Avent Natural Response nipple set. I used the set with my Avent glass bottle and it just worked wonders. My infant has a really had time latching on to bottles, especially because she is mostly breastfed, but now that I am back to work it has been really difficult to get her adjusted to taking the bottle. The main reason it has been so hard is because of the nipples that are used on the bottles. When I swapped out the main nipple for this new one, my infant was a little hesitant and took a few bites out of the nipples before being able to really find a comfortable placement. Truthfully, she wasn't a fan for the first 5-6 times that she used it and my partner constantly sent me pictures saying, "I don't think she likes these", until about two weeks later when I had to be out all day and when she was introduced to four bottles (the one with this nipple included), she only fed on the natural response nipple. After that day, that's all she takes. It goes down easy and she isn't constantly choking because the flow is too fast. In terms of cleaning, I have little brushes that make the nipples easy to clean and easy to hang to dry. I may be a little biased here, but these nipples seem to really mimic a real nipple and that is what makes it much easier for infants to end up preferring this set. Not to mention that I also tested out the nipple set to see what the flow was like and the flow is definitely perfect. I'd say that this set is definitely worth a try!

Phillips Avent Natural Response Nipple

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Phillips Avent Natural Response Nipple Set to test as part of the Stellar Review Panel. My favorite thing about the nipple is that it is soft and stretchy and has a wide base that closely mimics a real nipple and I was hopeful that my mostly breastfed baby would take to it quickly. The shape makes it easy for her to have the flipped out “duck lip” shape with her lips to achieve a complete and comfortable latch. The slow pace of the nipple was good for her even though she is almost 8 months old. I think the slower pace more closely mimics what she experiences at the breast and would help avoid any nipple preference that she might develop with a faster paced nipple flow. I noticed she was able to easily coordinate sucking with pausing to swallow and the no-drip nipple didn’t seem to keep dripping or cause her to choke or gag when she stopped to swallow. It also wouldn’t drip when she would drop the bottle so I think the no-drip tip feature works very well. The nipple is silicone and it is very easy to clean with just your pinky finger or a special commercially made piece to clean bottle nipples. Overall, my baby took to the nipple more easily than I thought she would for rarely taking a bottle and I will keep using the nipple set when she needs to take a bottle in the future.

Not great for breastfed babies

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked the idea of the natural response nipples. My baby is currently 9 months old and we do a combination of pumped milk in bottles and nursing. My son struggled with these nipples as it still drips out pretty fast even without sucking. For breastfed babies it needs to be slower so they have to work for the milk more. My lactation consultant also said the slope isn’t great for breastfed babies as it’s not gradual enough. My second problem with them is the leaking. I’m not sure if it’s the collar or what but sometimes it’s fine. Other times it leaks from the collar like crazy. I’ll check if it’s screwed on correctly and it seems like it is but it’s been frustrating at times. I received this nipple set from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to try the Avent Natural Response Nipple Set as a product for the Stellar testing Panel. My son was able to adapt to the bottle nipple very quickly. The no drip tip made it the bottle feeding experience almost mess free, and allowed my baby to pause to take a breather during feeds without coughing or wheezing. I felt like the wide shape nipple was easy to clean with our bottle brush and felt very natural to my baby who is also still breastfed, the flow seemed fast enough for his stage so he seemed very comfortable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this item as part of a Stellar Product Testing Panel. Prior to receiving these I had been using nanobebe bottles for both of my kids. I didn’t know what I was missing! The no drip tip is a game changer. It allows the baby to have complete control over the feed with no mess! I find myself a lot less worried about over-feeding and noticed less spit up. The pace of the flow was perfect for my newborn.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product from the stellar product testing panel and I love it!! As a 4th time mama I have used avent with each of my children. Some mostly breastfed but when I’ve wanted to use a bottle to feed I’ve used avent. Each of my kiddos have never had any issues taking this bottle/nipple. I like the ease and flow of it, it seems very natural to breastfeeding so we’re big fans.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This nipple has worked very well for my little one. She’s almost 2 months old and does well with the #2 flow. Rarely will she cough or choke. I do like that this nipple doesn’t leak! It is similar to the anatomic size of a breast so it helps reduce nipple confusion between breast and bottle feeds. The wide base makes it very easy to clean as well, which is a win. I would recommend this nipple if looking for an affordable option for a breast and bottle fed infant.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Avent Natural Response Nipple set courtesy of Stellar Product Testing Panel. These nipples have a lot of great features that work well for me and my baby. The wide mouth made it easy for my baby to get a good latch. I like that it doesn’t leak when tipping over, the baby has to suck to get the milk. The one piece design also makes them easy to clean, which is essential with an infant. Most importantly, I was able to switch between this nipple and breastfeeding without any confusion for my baby.

They really do not drip

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this for free through the stellar product testing panel in exchange for my honest review! I was curious to try these because the Natural Response claim had me wondering if they’d really be that different. After using them for a few weeks, i think they’re pretty close to perfect once you get the right flow. The no drip tip is actually the real deal surprisingly! My baby can take little breaks to breathe or look around without milk leaking everywhere. It makes feedings less stressful and less messy. Honestly, it saved us from a ton of outfit and bib changes. I love how the nipples don’t just pour milk out, so you really need suction. The feedings became smoother and way more relaxed once we figured out the right flow level. The wide shape helped my baby to latch easily, and I think it helped reduce nipple confusion when we switch between bottle and breastfeeding. The silicone is soft but sturdy, and I haven’t had any damage even after lots of washes. Speaking of which, The wide opening helps a lot, and the anti-colic valve pops out easily for a good deep clean. Overall, I found that I loved the control it gave my baby the most. It really mimics breastfeeding in the sense that they decide when to drink and when to rest, not the bottle. That, and the no-drip feature, really gave me peace of mind.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free in exchange for my review from Stellar Product Testing Panel. This nipple works perfectly with the bottle but was a bit too fast for my son to drink comfortably. It would collapse in on itself as he sucked or too much would come out at one time. The shape and contour are very similar to my own so he took to it eagerly, but I think he would need another month or so before he’s ready for the level 3. I do love that it doesn’t drip or spill everywhere if knocked over and it was easy to clean and remained the same after the dishwasher unlike some other brands.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received the Avent Natural Response nipple as part of the Stellar Produce Testing Panel. Very glad we did, as this option helped us to navigate a nipple that our baby would comfortably take to bottle as mom returned to work. While the no drip tip works while a bottle is tipped on its side, unfortunately if baby is holding the bottle and throws it, there is still drippage out the nipple by sheer impact force. Our baby did take well to the broad angle of the Avent Natural Response Nipple set, and I appreciate how similar the shape is to a natural breast. Lastly, the broad nipple shape also made it easier to clean, and a fine brush isn't needed if it is run through the dishwasher.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this nipple set. I loved this nipple for our bottles — it was fantastic for paced feeding! My little girl tends to drink her milk quickly and often ends up with an upset stomach, but this nipple really helped. I especially love the no-drip feature; I can turn the bottle upside down and it won’t leak, which is amazing. The wide neck design is another huge plus! Since my baby had oral ties, the wide shape made it much easier for both of us, and it’s also so much easier to clean!
