For maximum shaving performance, it is recommended to replace your shaving unit once every 12 months. Multi precision blades. 4.5 million hairs on your face are cut by your shaver head within one year. Replace the shaver heads every 12 months and get back peak performance. Blades raise then cut long and short hairs for a fast shave. Super Lift & Cut Action lifts hairs to cut comfortably close. Some shavers have a head replacement indicator. Once a year, depending on your shaving behavior, the shaver head replacement symbol will light up orange continuously, as a reminder to replace the shaver heads.

A poor replacement for HQ8 Lift-and-Cut

I have both a Norelco Series 7 and Series 8 electric razor with lift-and-cut blades, which I have used for years. These SH50/52 blades are the "recommended" replacement for both razors, but the experience is much worse. The old blades cut smoothly while these pull the hairs in a way that almost feels like they're plucking rather than trimming. A close look at the old and new heads side-by-side reveals the downgrade in quality of construction. Very disappointing.

My old heads were getting like a rototiller on my face. But, I didn't realize it until I put my new SH-50 Replacement blades in. What a difference! They shave me faster and certainly more smooth! I need to change yearly as I love my new results!

My replacements rip the hair out of my face. These ARE NOT true lift and cut blades. After trying to live with them I reinstalled my old blades. The worn out blades are still far superior to the SH50/52. Save your money to put towards a new razor.

Like everything norelco these days it is not as good as the HQ8 heads. I don't understand why they are going backwards, from there low end razors like the 3500 that don't shave close unless you shave for 20 minutes to their awkward square giants head design on the higher end shavers that are just plain terrible to get under the nose and not a good design. You would think a company would make better product not worse. My old Aquatec with the hq8 shaved better than anything they currently make.

It is possible that the performance of your shaver has declined because it is dirty. There may be hair or dirt particles stuck inside it, causing the shaving heads to not function correctly. To fix this problem, properly clean your shaver. If possible, remove the shaving heads and clean your shaver from the inside as well. For detailed cleaning instructions, refer to your user manual. Another reason why your shaver might not be working properly is that it is not assembled correctly. For full instructions on how to reassemble your shaver, refer to your user manual. When you shave with your Philips Shaver, you will achieve optimal results if you make slow circular movements with the shaver over the face. If you have not shaved for a couple of days and have a heavy beard, it is a good idea to trim your beard before you start shaving. This technique also helps reduce shaving time. Do not press the shaver too hard against your skin. Only apply gentle pressure, which makes your facial hair stand upright and makes it easier for the shaver blades to catch and cut them. Purchased SH50 for razor due to the cutters fitting the spindles better than the cutters in the 30/52. Planned on using the new cutters with the old screens from the 30/52 due the initial issue with the SH50 screens. I decided to try the 50 as received on a 3 day growth. produced a perfect cut, even with NO PRE-SHAVE which I never do. The specs must have been reviewed or the tool changed that cuts the grooves in the screens. Whatever, they work. I still don't get the holes. Very hard to push a string into a straw.by dragging the straw over the end of the string

Please make sure to clean the shaver heads thoroughly after each use and do a deeper clean monthly. Trapped hair and debris can dull the blades over time. Check that you're using the right shaving technique of moving in small circular motions with light pressure. This allows the blades to cut hairs growing in all different directions. Additionally, if you haven’t shaved for three days or longer, pre-trim the longer hairs with a beard trimmer to ensure a better result when using your Philips electric shaver. I received my replacement shaver heads about a week ago. They arrived early, taking less than two days to receive. The heads work smoothly (no hair jerking as some have complained about) and give me a much closer shave than my old heads did. I was hesitant to buy these heads because of the negative reviews I read, but I decided to take a chance with this purchase anyway. I am very pleased with my new shaver heads and would buy them again.
