Description

Improve your gum health up to 100% better than a manual toothbrush with the ProtectiveClean 5100 rechargeable electric toothbrush. It has a pressure sensor that protects teeth and gums from excess brushing pressure. Brush heads wear out over time. Our BrushSync technology tracks how long you have been using your Optimal Gum Care brush head and how hard you have been brushing. Your electric toothbrush will beep to inform you when to replace your brush head. Customize your own brushing experience with your choice of 3 modes: Clean, White and Gum Care. The easy-start feature slowly increases the power of the brush as you get used to the Sonicare experience and the smartimer encourages a full 2 minutes brushing time as recommended by your dental professional. The battery charge indicator light lets you know when it is time recharge; 2 week battery life. The kit includes 1 ProtectiveClean 5100 handle, 1 Optimal Gum Care brush head, 1 charger, 1 travel case.

    Overall good toothbrush.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My last toothbrush finally died after many years, so I had to purchase a new one. I chose another Philips Sonicare. This new one is not as comfortable to hold as my old one. It has a feature to let you know that you are pushing too hard, in my opinion this one is too sensitive. It does a great job of cleaning my teeth and I like the extra time to concentrate on the gums.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sonicare 5100 electric toothbrush. Very happy with this brush....been expressing my dental visits with how clean my teeth are. Great massaging my gums and cleaning and whitening my alot better than my entry level brush. The brush has alot of great features that will help improve your dental care. I use mine with the sonicare flosser.

    Just ok

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sensor to alert me to brushing too hard has not worked from the beginning. I find that this model cleans my teeth just so, so. When I use my manual toothbrush my teeth feels cleaner.

    So far, so good!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this right after my most recent dental cleaning. Using twice a day. It's pretty amazing how clean everything feels. The real review will have to come after my next cleaning. We'll see how much they have to scale. Stay tuned...

    Good electric toothbrush

My husband really likes this electric tooth brush. Its ease of use and long battery life are the top reasons. The replacement heads are a bit expensive.

    Won’t recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used it a couple of days and can’t stand the extreme noise of the toothbrush. It was recommended to me for being not too noisy. However, it sounds like a jackhammer going through my mouth.

Made Me a Fan of Electric Toothbrushes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dentist recommended this toothbrush to me. To be honest, I've never been a big fan of electric toothbrushes. I have a small mouth, and electric toothbrushes usually have a huge head that makes it difficult for me to brush. Not this one. The head is small, and it cleans my teeth better than any manual toothbrush could. I hope my hygienist will see the difference my next cleaning appointment.

    Good experience!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently fractured my right clavicle and being a right handed person it has been challenging to do things! It's definitely been a comical experience! Brushing my teeth however hasn't been too bad of an experience as I think it has been easier since purchasing my Sonicare 5100. If I had another toothbrush I don't think it would have a good experience!

    Junk

This thing is junk. My last sonicare lasted over 10 years. This thing stops vibrating as soon as it touches your teeth. Of course it’s just out of warranty. I disabled the pressure sensor and it still doesn’t work. Planned obsolescence at its best. Very disappointed.

Very good unit! Would buy again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned a Philips electric toothbrush for about 20 years. The battery and charger are in good condition. The unit still functions and has been a very good unit over the 20 year timeframe. I bought the new Philips ProtectiveClean 5300 HX6423/34 Sonic electric toothbrush to retire my old Philips toothbrush and use it as a backup. The new toothbrush feels lighter & more powerful, is very streamline and does a much better job of brushing than the old unit. It, also, has new features such as 3 brushing modes, pressure sensor, a 14 day battery and it improves gum heath up to 100% for optimal gum care. Comes with a two year warranty.

    Good for a few months

Second one I’ve had that works for ~6 months and then the shaft that moves the brush loosens, becoming loud and ineffective. Unsure if I’ll buy a more expensive model with the hopes they aren’t all like this or change brands.

Quality Has Deteriorated in Recent Years

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I have been using SonicCare toothbrushes for years. Quality has deteriorated since acquisition by Philips. My latest purchase is the worst ... erratic timing and charging irregularity.
