Great concept to game. But quite confusing and difficult to follow with multiple variables for card play. Takes a while to understand all the nuances. Kids didn’t like it.

Not for me
Pickup from Gameflo is ok. It’s a basketball card game for 2-6 players for all ages. It’s a game of strategy and chance. Pickup is 3 games in one with “multiple ways” to play. You can play Pickup Starter, Pickup Party, or Pickup Classic. I say it’s only ok because the instructions are actually very confusing and there isn’t much explanation. You need to go online to get more detailed instructions to play the game and even then it can take playing it multiple times to really start to understand but by then it may not even be fun anymore.

Fun concept for sports fans
I received this product from Tryazon in exchange for my honest opinion. When playing Pickup, we felt the directions were difficult to understand. As non basketball players, we found it hard to follow the offense/defense and know what score to get. We tried to understand the overall concept, but it did take away from the fun.

Difficult to understand, much too complicated and complex for a game. Instructions weren’t specific enough. We did not enjoy playing this game at all.

Has potential.
This basketball themed game is a cool idea. You get players and play one on one with another player to get points. The rules that come with the party edition are a little too simple but there are more advanced rules online that let you draft and trade players which would be much more fun. We only tried the party version.

pickup family game night
My family loves a good game night! We watched the video and read the instruction packet but were still a little confused. I like that there are three options based on how much time you have to play. The video gameplay is a little different from the packet. We had hoped to be shooting some mini hoops or something like that.

Great for those who like strategy games!
If you love strategy games that make you think, the Pick Up Basketball Card Game is a slam dunk! My family and I recently played it, and it’s a unique twist on both card games and basketball. The game allows you to either randomly draw or strategically draft your teams, which adds an exciting layer of fun. Overall, it’s a fun and clever way to combine sports enthusiasm with card game mechanics - but know that you don't have to understand basketball to enjoy this game - it would be fun for anyone who enjoys strategic gameplay with or without a sporting background.

Good game
It was a fun game but had a lot of referencing the game rules and rereading to remind us how to play. There was strategy involved which made it fun but the first go around was hard to play.

Fun, but complex
This game is a lot to follow, especially when you’re on what they consider to be the “advanced” mode. There’s a lot of moving parts to the game and because of that I can definitely see why it’s for ages 8+. I like that there’s a basic mode you can start out on and then gradually add more to it. The context of the game is fun and unique. It really brings together a lot of the skills and thoughts that you would have while playing a real game of basketball. The game is full of competition and strategy and I was surprised my family got as involved as they did. My BIL is coaching basketball for middle schoolers so this game was extra fun for him. Thanks to Gameflo for gifting me this game to try out and give my honest feedback on.

Such a fun card game for basketball fans and non fans!
This game was a hit with all ages in our family! We loved the ability to build teams and the strategic aspects of the game. The artwork is fun and the kids really enjoyed it.

A grownups game!
Absolutely not a kid game! This game is challenging and kind of complicated for kids between eight and twelve. It is very fun when you play with people who love basketball.
