A: This facial mist is great for refreshing the skin and setting face and eye makeup to prolong wear and prevent moving, melting or sinking into fine lines. It is similar to the Mac Finishing Mist in that it helps balance and hydrate skin throughout the day thanks to green tea and rosewater.
submitted byTarget Beauty Consulting - 9 years agoBrand expertA: No..this is not the ideal spray to use for the eye area as it contains alcohol and can be very drying on the lids or irritating on the eyes. A true setting spray contains alcohol. Mac fix plus isn't a setting spray. It's a finishing spray that doesn't contain alcohol and is used to give a glowy finish and lessen the powdery look of a finishing powder. If you need for your makeup to last...then use a setting spray. A setting spray shouldn't be used every single day as it can be drying with overuse. Hope this helps! By the way, I learned all of this from Elle Leary on Youtube. She has a video that just came out discussing setting sprays and finishing sprays. Very helpful!!!

Sprays like a garden hose
The droplets are so huge, it felt like getting hit with the sprayer from my kitchen sink. After makeup it melts the makeup. I tried it before makeup and didn’t really notice a difference. Was worth a try at such a good price, but I’ve tossed it, not worth the shelf space.

smells soo bad. like a strong perfume scent that lingers & is nauseating. didn't even get it for makeup. Great as a primer!
I have mature, oily skin and there is no setting spray I’ve ever found that actually works for me. At any price point. However, I love Pixi products and actually had good results using this spray as a primer BEFORE my makeup. I use it right after my sunscreen, 3-4 spritzes. Sometimes I pat it for a better spread, but just let everything settle and dry for a min, then I use my foundation/concealer and it works quite well. Then I follow everything up with the ELF setting spray (a great deal for the $$) and I get the same if not better results as with expensive makeup store brands. Plus Pixi is always so gentle on my skin, which is horribly acne prone. I don’t like the “dewy” look, so don’t really use this as a setting spray except in a pinch in the winter time…. But in any case, this def gets a recommendation from me!

Title pretty much says it all. It leaves the skin looking dewy, sprays well (is actually a mist and not a jet stream), but it doesn't set makeup. My waterproof mascara still melts onto my eyelids and my concealer just rubs right off within a few hours. I want to like this product but can't if it doesn't do what it says!

BEST rose water spritz for my combination skin!
This product is the best for my combination skin, and I've tried 3 other similar products. It's non-greasy, soaks right in. I spray it over my makeup after applying, and throughout the day because I am sometimes under contant breeze from an air vent over my desk. It keeps my skin dewy fresh looking without smearing my makeup. If I do get any dry patches or flaky mascara around my eyes during the day I dampen a q-tip and use it to touch up and it removes what needs to be touched up perfectly, and any dry patches everywhere else get a spritz and then softly blend them in perfectly smooth again to look fresh. I wear powder foundation so it can get over dry in wind or low humidity and this spray is perfect for a clean fresh look and feel anytime of day or night. It's really great to use on my lashes before applying mascara to help the mascara glide on perfectly.

Jet Stream
My husband has bought this for me three times and each time I had nozzle issues. It doesn't spray a mist, it sprays a stream. It reminds me of those garden hose nozzle attachments with the different settings. All three times it is set to the "jet stream" setting. This spray has more than once ruined a gorgeous eye shadow look. The product inside is great so it's such a shame.

The nozzle is a problem
I love how lightweight this product is, but the nozzle is frustratingly cheap; mine was cracked and apparently they commonly just don’t function well. Totally worth the quick fix of transferring the mist into another spray bottle.
