Description

Live the life of a Pokémon Trainer and help protect the peace in Lumiose City!
Lumiose City—a home for people and Pokémon alike. Thanks to an urban redevelopment plan driven by Quasartico Inc., the lush greenery of verdant parks intermingles with facilities using the latest cutting-edge technology. A lot has changed here since the days of the Pokémon™ X and Pokémon Y games!
Choose Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile as your first partner Pokémon, and then set off on a grand adventure! Your journey will take you to all manner of sights in the streets arrayed around Prism Tower, including shops, restaurants, and places called wild zones—where Pokémon roam free. As you catch, train, and battle Pokémon, there will be plenty of people to meet too—like AZ, the enigmatic owner of Hotel Z, and Team MZ, the crew that aims to keep Lumiose a peaceful place.
Catch, battle, and Mega Evolve—all in real time!
Step onto the battlefield and command your Pokémon directly—there are no turns! For the first time in the Pokémon RPG series, Trainers and their Pokémon can both move around in real-time battles, and your Pokémon will unleash their moves when you tell them to. Strategically swapping out your Pokémon and accounting for each move’s timing and area of effect will greatly help you in this new style of battle.
Harness the power of Mega Evolution! Unleash your Pokémon’s hidden energy to temporarily transform its appearance, enhance its capabilities, and perhaps even change its type. Use this power wisely and try to overcome your toughest challenges, like those posed by the rampaging Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon across Lumiose City. Investigate these dangerous incidents so you can put a stop to them—you may even encounter new Mega-Evolved Pokémon along the way!
Compete in the Z-A Royale when night falls—or battle with other players in the Z-A Battle Club
You’re invited to join the Z-A Royale, a competition for Pokémon Trainers to test their skills and determine who’s strongest. Each night, a battle zone for the competition will appear. Prepare yourself by spending the day catching and training Pokémon, then venture into the battle zone to take on other Trainers. Be strategic and complete bonus card challenges as you battle to speed up your climb from Rank Z to Rank A. Reach the top, and you might just have a wish granted.

You can also test your skills against friends or Trainers around the world in the Z-A Battle Club. Take on up to three other Trainers at once, locally* or online**, in frenetic real-time battles!

This is going to be long. This game is actually a big let down. You are stuck in one town running in circles. So the really took a huge step backwards in game play compared to other games where you can Travel around. Graphics are as expected. 1. Your boxes are accessible anytime-pro 2. Any pokeball you miss on catching is returned to you at a Pokecenter. -pro 3. Outfits are absolutely horrendous -con 4. THE GAME 50% OF THE TIME WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO MEGA-EVOLVE( this is a major glitch in the game and let down) Big Con 5. It’s incredibly easy to earn money but there’s no real incentive in the game to spend it. 6. The team memebers who are supposed to aid you in fighting mega evolved Pokémon don’t do crap. They are useless and just make you mad. 7. Cut scenes take way too long to end and there’s no option to skip the stupid story lines. 7. Some side quests will take you a long time to even complete for the crappy rewards you get. 8. The game play of targeting and open fighting gets worse as you progress in the game. I’m at level B and even while targeting and holding in the button to keep it targeted, the game fails and you have to try multiple times for it to lock on to the Pokémon. 9. If you really pay attention to what the ramen characters on the street say, you will find an old man who makes a morbid comment to himself. I found it funny but some may not. All in all I think the cost of this game is not worth the game play. They keep updating it and adding add ons but you have to pay 29.99 to add them on. Then it locks to the one device you add it on to and renders it useless if you play on multiple devices at home. I have played better Pokémon games and the hype of this release was how they got to sell so many. I’d say don’t buy.

This Game Should Have Been An Email

This game has a few great net mechanics, but not enough to justify a full game. You're isolated to one city where every building is 1 texture (there are no actual windows or bricks or anything, it's 1 flat image). So the location drags it down to 1 star. They introduced new Mega Evolutions which is great, but over half of those fall flat. Overall it brings it up to a 3. They introduced a new battle style (ripping off Palworld). It's much more fast paced and a lot of fun (turn based still has it's place in the world), but I think having a set of Pokemon games with this style is a welcome addition. Up to 3 stars. There are a fraction of total tracks because you're stuck in 1 city, so it's that same song over and over. However, the night version is an absolute banger and there are other great tracks along the way, so the music brings it up to 4 stars. The story is bland, the city is empty, the quests are repetative, the assets are half finished, so due to those things I'm giving it 2 stars. I hope they take the new battle system and introduce it to future games, but as a stand along I would honestly not purchase this game if I could do it again.

Disappointed preorder

The game is OK, my son seems to really enjoy it. However, there was an item promised with preorder which didn’t arrive with the game or since. I’m disappointed that Target would allow this to happen. There were plenty of other retailers offering items with preorders but I trusted Target.

Don't waste any money on this

It was literally the bare minimum they could do. For $70 you DON'T get multiple towns/cities, in depth post game, or decent story. It was pretty much a generic lets be friends basic game for kids. It was very short of a game as well and probably 1/4 story than Arceus was. The infinite royale is CPU only and very easy also. So yeah this was a let down. The city burns my eyes to look at also its genuinely annoying visually.

LOVE this game!

I truly love this game. Don't look at all that bad reviews. Just buy it for yourself because you might like it. The graphics are fine, but they did make the windows flat lol. The game runs smoothly on Switch 1 and the story line is really interesting. I really enjoy being able to Mega Evolve my Pokémon and battle in real time. Finding out strategies on dodging and pacing attacks is really fun and engaging. I actually think it's pretty neat how the set the game in Lumiose City, and I don't feel cramped. The story is paced just fine, if not a little slow. The wild zones are full with Pokémon, and there are even some hiding around the city in trees and on rooftops. There is also a wide variety of Pokemon in this game, and Kalos pokemon are pretty great. I highly recommend checking the game out for yourself because haters are going to hate and there are always going to be people who don't like a non-mainline Pokémon game.

Great Game!

I loved this game! I was skeptical on getting it at first reading all the negative reviews but I enjoyed it it's not a mainline game so don't expect it to have gyms.. visually appealing for a pokémon game. it is quite a bit like legend Arceus except for the real-time battles. it's a game you're going to have to try yourself and form your own opinion. if you just want an old school pokémon game I don't recommend this but if you like side line games it's pretty good. about the only negative thing I have to say is Nintendo needs to start hiring voice actors! it's a game designed for children to enjoy easy on the eyes and a straightforward story.

Delivery not good

Ship it person went to the wrong store location and my order got canceled because they didn't want to go to the store I ordered from. Ended up having to place a new order and get the item myself. I don't recommend the ship it delivery service.
