Love this cleanser! It leaves my skin feeling super smooth without that dry, tight feeling most cleansers give. My face and body feels clean, soft, and balanced every time. Definitely a new staple in my routine!
Ideal sal acid for dry or sensitive skin

The combo of 50% glycerin and 1% encapsulated sal acid makes this cleanser ideal to gently shed dead skin and prevent clogged pores when using rich moisturizers to treat dry skin. As an licensed esthetician most oily people lack hydration and dry or sensitive people need to exfoliate more consistently. This is perfect for all skin types! I never imagined being this excited about a cleanser!!

Didn't work for me, had a terrible allergic reaction to something in it and it flared my eczema really badly for days. Returned cleanser.

I thought I was going to love this cleanser as I have aging oily skin. My skin dried out more easily than it used to but is still on the oily side. To my surprise, this cleanser isn’t “cleansing” enough for me. I’m not getting a deep clean from it and my skin has had small breakouts since I started using it. I wouldn’t recommend for truly oily skin.

This cleanser really helped my acne, but it gave me contact dermatitis on my eyelids. So I do not recommend if you are eczema prone

okay, so I have been using the Gleanser without SA and it is my absolute favorite cleanser. I am an esthetician and have tried so many cleansers but they ALL dry me out. Anyways, now I’ve tried the one with SA and was pretty scared because typically I am sensitive to SA but this cleanser gave me no issues as well as didn’t dry me out. And this blew my mind since it’s an SA cleanser and most strip the living crap out of anyone’s skin. I was prepared to not be able to use it because of the SA and figured my skin couldn’t handle it, but I was wrong. Love it!
I love it for my dry skin

I have dry skin on my face yet have acne and this is perfect. I’ve also used it as a body wash and love the silky feel it leaves. Be warned that you can’t jump head first into this as a facial cleanser - you have to slowly introduce it to your routine and build up exposure or else it will irritate your skin.

I live this cleanser and am in my third bottle. My skin feels really clean but not dry. I love everything from the prequel line!
Stay away from this one!

I truly had high hopes for this despite the recent reviews. People rave about this on tik tok and it seemed like the perfect idea, truly. I have dehydrated skin that is also acne prone so a very gentle cleanser with salicylic acid seemed like a great idea. However, just like the reviews said, it gave me tiny red bumps and itchy skin, it damaged my skin barrier. I bought instead the eucerin gentle hydrating gel cleanser and the Byoma hydrating serum and it’s been two days and my skin is doing so much better. Stay away from this one :(
If Fungal Acne Prone Avoid

I'm a woman in her early 30s and I have sensitive oily skin that is prone to breakouts and fungal acne ( Malassezia folliculitis). I was so excited to try this cleanser because it feels like everything irritates my skin, dries out my skin, and or causes acne and this came highly recommended for helping with all three. I tried this product a couple times in a week and every time it burned, and not the normal "I have sensitive skin and SA kinda burns" but my face and neck/chest were red, warm to the touch, and the discomfort did not settle for hours (might have something to do with the slow release SA or maybe I'm allergic to something?). It was the only thing I changed about my routine, normally I use the Ordinary cleanser but I switched it out. The next week I had so many little bumps across my forehead, chin, sides of my cheeks, and chest where I applied the cleanser. My skin got so angry I also have regular old acne spots here and there from it. I trust that this product works for some skin types, but if you are anything like me, be careful. Try it once and if it burns stop and/or if you have "fungal acne" maybe avoid entirely.
No Thanks

This caused me to break out all over my face in little red spots that came to a teeny tiny head. I wanted to like it, but having gone through serious acne treatment as a teen into young adulthood I am not interested in acne. Perhaps if you have extremely dry skin this would be a great cleanser for you. I’m not that girl.

It honestly feels so nice on the skin. However, I rarely break out. Been using this 3-4 weeks and my skin developed cystic acne - never have had before. So sad I wanted to love it but it’s truly breaking me out

I have rosacea, inflammatory acne and dry skin. This is a game changer. You can tell Dr. Sam Ellis is not only a dermatologist but also a patient who has tried multiple products. This formulation is the perfect balance of actives to exfoliate all while nourishing your skin with the hydrating factors needed to replenish. I appreciate she only includes the essentials needed to make an effective and elegant formula. My skin is less inflamed, softer, more hydrate and my breakouts are healing faster.

This wash leaves my skin feeling so clean and even leaves my skin a little glowy. I would recommend this wash for those who struggle with acne, it is perfect for every day use to help minimize the appearance of acne.

The worst packaging which makes this unusable. The bottle is large and very slippery when wet like if using in the shower. You have to place it on the edge of the tub to pump it because it’s too hard to pump by holding it in one hand and pumping with the other because you’d need a third hand to catch the product coming out since you’d can’t hold it at the top and pump like normal. When moving the bottle to the tub like I have to do every time since I have suction cup shelves and can’t apply the extreme amount of force needed to pump this bottle, I dropped it because of how slippery it is and the nozzle broke off and can’t be fixed. Now I’m pouring it out of the top with it unscrewed but it’s messy and gets everywhere. They must not have tried this product at all before launching it… please google what market research is and do that before launching your next product, Prequel. I’m fully abled bodied and having this issue, they clearly have not even considered what this would be like for someone with an any bit of a disability like poor grip or missing an arm hand or finger.

I had high hopes for this since every single other Prequel product I've tried has been magic, but it broke me out like no bodies business. 55yo, sun damaged, normal with a chance for acne skin.

I love Gleanser so I knew this one would be great too. It's not drying like some SA cleansers are. My skin still feels great after I use it just like with Gleanser. It's also nice that you don't need to leave it on for a while before rinsing to get the full effect. I liked this way better than the Cetaphil SA cleanser and my skin is usually very sensitive and picky.
