The vanilla flavoring is luscious and blends well with any fruits, nuts, almond milk and supplements I add in the blender. Until a friend told me about Swanson's online service, I bought this product at large chain natural foods stores. Now I buy it from Swanson at nearly half the price. I'm now a happier smoothie drinker!

I've been buying Nutribiotic plain rice protein for over 5 years. Recently this product arrives to me tasting strongly rancid, it never did for me in the past. The company has either changed manufacturing methods or is shipping/storing it in hot places. Rancid foods are quite bad for our health. I also had this problem recently with one I bought locally, so I know it's not Swansons' fault, It's Nutribiotic's fault. If someone has never tried plain rice protein before, NON-rancid rice protein does have a somewhat bitter after taste, that is not what I mean. These recent containers of Nutribiotic rice protein had the kind of nasty smell and taste that you get when nuts, chips, or other foods with oil in them go rancid. THAT smell/taste. Nutribiotic rice protein does have a trace amount of fat in it, apparently enough to go rancid.
