Works fine if the soil is loose but not for clay or newly turned soil. Simple dirt clogs of 2 inches stop the tiller and it has to be lifted up to manually remove the clog. The manufacturer should but a reverse gear on the tines and that would have automatically corrected the problem.

Easy to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tool helped make my yearly garden planting easier. I was able to make ruts where I put down seeds in matter of minutes. Directions are easy to understand. The handle has an adjustable height making it easier on your back. It's not cordless though, so you'll need a good size power cord.

Very easy to use and strong
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved this cultivator! I had a huge area of my yard that I wanted to put fresh flowers in. This cultivator turned up the soil so easily even though it was packed dirt. I was also able to extend that area because it was very easy to cut into the grass! This machine cut down my hard work a lot. It didn’t jam up and was easy to use! I would definitely recommend it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are trying to start a garden in our backyard. Are soil is pretty tough and this did a good job at loosening it up. It's not to heavy however I did need to put pressure on it to dig up my soil. I ended up using it to also mix in top soil with my soil and it worked great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Sun Joe TJ599E Electric Garden Cultivator is so handy to have for small quick after thought flower beds. You don't have to dig out the huge tiller anymore for something small. The balance is good and it tills better than I thought it would, it cuts straight through any grass or roots. It's adjustable for my height and that's a plus because I'm short. Overall, it's a nice handy cultivator to have, I just wished it wasn't electric because I live on a lot of land. Someone with a small yard would be thrilled with this cultivator. Thank you!

Husband love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband loves this electric cultivator! I have had him out using it on my whole yard. First started with my flower garden, fixing the rows and getting rid of weeds. Second, it was used to make sure my mammoth sunflowers have adequate soil at their bases, and lastly, he used it for his own vegetable garden. The machine works amazingly well and is not excessively heavy. However, it’s best to follow directions and use proper extension cords.

Great Lightweight Cultivator!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really shocked by how amazing this cultivator is! Its light, which sometimes can lead to a negative perception of not being good. I was worried that with its lightness and it being a cultivator it was going to be hard to control and be hard on my hands. That was FAR from my reality. There was a mild jerk towards me by the unit when it first contacted the ground, but nothing too bad and my body can brace it, after that, it was easy to control and manipulate the cultivator. My hands did NOT experience fatigue or pain after using the device. I was also surprised at how quiet the device is. I was expecting it to be as loud as a string trimmer, but its no where near that loud. This cultivator did an amazing job in my yard, did not skip a beat or struggle in the least. I'm very pleasantly surprised, and my impression of Sun Joe has increased ten fold. I highly recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Sun Joe electric garden cultivator is perfect for our gardening needs. We plant a small garden each year, as well as a few flower beds, and digging with a traditional shovel is hard work and tiresome. This cultivator is lightweight, easy to handle, and doesn’t require gasoline. Getting started is simple as plugging it in and pushing a button to begin prepping the ground for a garden. I love that the shaft is adjustable and the handle can be moved which makes for easy and comfortable handling. Once I’m done using it, I can easily place it in my storage building without it taking up too much space. Overall, it does an excellent job of preparing the ground for a small garden or flower bed. My only complaint is that if there are rocks in the soil they may jam the tines, but otherwise, I would highly recommend it.

Works on loosening soil
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cultivator works well for our backyard. While it is limited in what it can and can not do for the most part, it does the job. It is on the flimsy side should you need to extend the shaft if you are tall. The post wiggles around even at its lowest setting. I feel the steel tines should at least be able to cut shallow vines or young roots (esp for those dollar weeds). Instead, it just gets wrapped around the tines. The tines get jammed easily even if there are no vines, roots, or rocks, you need to lift it a tiny bit, and it will run again. We found moving it forward and backward in small intervals works best. I would recommend it should you have a small area to work with. You may want to look into a larger, more robust version if you have a larger yard.

We Love It!!
