Q: I'm 60, 5'5" tall, about 165. Specs say I could use either adult or child one then? I'm curious of average cruising speed. Seems not as fast as a regular bike, someone said 3 to 4 mph and they couldn't keep up with other casual bikers?

submitted by SunnyDazeInFLA - 7 years ago
  • A: you might be able to use the childs bike, but i would get the adult one, the tires are bigger and its a bit better built, the extra money is worth it, deafinately get the adult trike. The bike does not go fast at all, its like a trike, it has no gears, you peddle constantly, even on downhills, you don't coast very much, so you do get a good workout. The trike does have freewheel, so it coasts a little. You deafinately wouldn't keep up with regular bikers, i just rode by myself and made friends along the way, after a year, i purchased a recumbant bike with gears and absolutely love it, but i had so much fun on my trike and was happy to purchase a nicely made trike, that i could test out to see if i could even ride a bike like this, while waiting for a knee replacement.

  • A: I thought I read the weight capacity for the youth Mobo was under 40', what did you read??

submitted byPamela - 6 years ago
  • A: Yes. The average speed for the Mobo Three-Wheel cruiser is about 3-4 miles, depending on the effort on pedalling. It is common you wouldn't be able to keep up with casual bikers.

Q: are these bikes transportable?

submitted by Gurt - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes, thdy dissassemble.

submitted by - 6 years ago
  • A: yes, you can unscrew the bolt in the boom to make the trike smaller for easier transport, but it might not fit into the trunk of a car, a little hatchback or suv, or small truck is ideal.

Q: Do these work well on the beach, in the sand?

submitted by chelebean - 7 years ago
  • A: Hi Chelebean, These are great for the beach on sidewalk but similar to a bicycle it would be very difficult to pedal in the sand. Thank you MoboCruiser

submitted byMoboCruiser - 7 years ago
  • A: I would not recommend trying to ride this trike on the sand, a paved road or bike trail is pefect, as long as it isn't to hilly, you can manage small hills,

Q: Can you make the bike smaller to fit into a hatchback car???

submitted by Pamela - 6 years ago
  • A: There is bolt in the boom that you can loosen to make the boom shorter or longer, to accomadate taller or shorter riders, so it can be made pretty small to fit in the back of a hatchback car, i used to haul mine in a small jeep liberty. And still had a bit of room.

Quality product--just what I was looking for.

Opened the package today and assembled the trike following the easy to understand photos. All parts, bolts and screws, including appropriate tools were in the box. The trike is smaller than I expected and can't get much speed. However, I bought the trike mainly for that purpose. I plan to make leisurely day trips along the Texas Trinity Trail routes to observe the natural surroundings and outdoor atmosphere. The trike is perfect for me. I did have trouble adjusting the brake, but that's a normal phenomenon for new bikes.

    MOBO Bicycle

I purchased this bicycle last July. The left rear tire came with a slow leak in the tube. I had to fill it every time I used it. So I hardly used it. This week I had it replaced. I ended up riding the bicycle four times this week. It was very joyful. Do you sell accessories for the bicycle?

    LOVE

AM I HAVING FUN OR WHAT?! If this little buggy falls completely to bits today I would still have gotten my whole money’s worth!! I’m pretty sure I’m directly responsible for a large portion of new sales in my area because I’m out and about on it every chance I get and LOTS of folks want to know where I got it every time. It is beyond comfy on your entire human frame, (I did mod it up with a crazy kitchen chair cushion since the sturdy seat needs a bit of, well, cushioning.) I can peddle around, using my natural core strength (hips and legs, braced against seat back) all reclined and nearly effortless, it just doesn’t get much better than that! I added all kinds of cool junk (phone and cup holder, bell, lights, bike lock, etc.) and have plans for a trailer to haul small beings and greater loads than my strapped-on backpack. I load it in the truck easily (small oldish woman) and yet it’s plenty weighty feeling. It’s zippy and works on the side of the sidewalk as well as on the sidewalk. Yesterday I maneuvered through a crowded festival taking up no more space than a mother and stroller, then I bought a big fat lobster roll and a frozen mochaccino, and ate it with my feet kicked up on the front wheel, watching mortals walk and stand. It is straight up awesome.

Disappointing to learn the seat is 12 inches off the ground. This information was not available online before it was ordered. That height is too difficult for most older adults. Even though it is advertised as an adult trike, it is really for children. The under seat steering and Delta recumbent style were too tempting.

    Scenic park touring

I'm 74 and have found this "trike" just what I've been needing. I can now exercise and enjoy the scenery along with the breezy fresh air it naturally provides. The design makes it easy for me to "shrink" it and "throw" it in my station wagon (just does fit) and go to so many local parks (with paved walkways) and enjoy myself! Adding a gearing system would only make it where it would not fit in my wagon.

    Great for starters

So far so good. My son is 14 and seems to be almost too big for this bike. I wish it was able to reverse and that tires were a bit larger. Gears would great too. Needs water bottle holder too. Otherwise, you get what you pay for. Product could be better made but I think this might be as good as it gets in terms of this style of bike. I would recommend this as a starter bike for those with special needs.

Back surgery recovery, low riding, safely ride with less danger of falling.

Our daughter, mother of 3, has had 2 back surgeries. Surgeon wouldn't release her to ride standard bike. Did allow her to use this, low riding, bike.

    Mobo

This is a cute bike however anything other than riding up and down the driveway it is not going to work. I am returning the bike. We went for a ride at the local campground and my adult son was peddling like crazy and barely getting anywhere. I could have walked next to him faster. I would not recommend Buying

I love the design of this bike, but...

It is listed as (adult) and I am pretty short, only 5' so I thought this would be great for me. The problem is that if you are taller than say 4'8" or so this tryke is too short to get proper extension on the pedals. It also doesnt turn as tight as I would have liked. Other than that it is an awesome tryke.

Hello mommyhen42, We are glad to hear that you are enjoying your new Mobo Cruiser. Regarding the length of our cruisers, all of our cruisers have adjustable frames. The Mobo Triton Pro accommodates heights from 4' to 6'3". To adjust the frame you simply need to release the knob on the frame and slide the front portion of the cruiser out to the desired length. Once you have found the desired sizing, it should lock into place and then secure the knob. Hope this helps! Thank you for your feedback. -Mobo Cruiser

    needs gears

For the price they should have put gears on the bike. It can only go at a slow speed. If it had gears it would be more ridable. Going at a very slow speed is boring after about 5 minutes of riding it. My opinion, its an over priced childs bike! To make it more enjoyable they need to add some gears to be able to shift into higher gears. The front wheel can also be a little bigger if your an adult due to your feet hitting ground while pedaling. Nice bike but needs to be tweaked as far as front wheel and gears

    Recommend it to people

It's very easy to maneuver, and stable when you're riding. My wife and son take turns riding on it. I always have people complimenting it when I'm riding it around the neighborhood. Overall a really nice bike. I've had it for a while, and haven't had any issues with it.
