Q: My wife was to purchase AZO vaginal screen, to see if she has yeast or bacterial infection. Will this product be equivalent for such detection?

A: AZO Vaginal pH Test is probably what she needed, that determines if someone has a yeast infection or bacterial infection. The AZO Urinary Tract Infection Test Strips will detect the presence of a UTI.

A: Hello Z, Yes they can. As a suggestion, since it might be hard to get a child to urinate on the strip or to hold the strip in their urine stream you can follow our suggested directions of using a clean dry cup/container and dip the strip in there after the child urinates. Q: Silly question, can this be used to test dog's for UTI's if the symptoms are not serious to warrant a test at the vet's office? If so, how can I interpret them for a small dog that is about 11 pounds? Thank you.

Q: Hello So I have symptoms of a uti,I just took a test and nitrite has no signs it on the negative side. The leukocytes is the color of the pad with very light pink like spotted . Is that positive?

A: A spotty result on the AZO Test Strips is considered inconclusive. We recommend testing again in 24 hours. Also, both tests turning positive is the strongest indication of a urinary tract infection. However, any time you are experiencing symptoms of a urinary tract infection, it is advisable to see your Health Care Professional.

We've all been there
If you think you have a UTI, this test is for you. It works at home and gives you results in seconds if you’re feeling if you down there and it’s burning while you pee it’s probably cause you have a UTI honey. It’s OK we’ve all been there if you need to know and can’t go to a doctor right away definitely try this test and go to the doctor immediately to get antibiotics. Work great if you’re in a rush to find out results quickly. Just know that if you already have discoloration in your urine then don’t buy these because it will stain the test and you won’t be able to see the result.

Not happy with AZO UTI test strips!
I tested positive for leukocytes with my AZO strip so I made a doctor's appointment and the lab at my doctor's office tested my urine and it was 100% NEGATIVE for any infection. Money wasted BIG TIME. I am not happy!

Only Nitrate result matters
Got this for my daughter because she was having some issues. I decided to take one too just to see if they were accurate. Hers and mine came out the same- purple on top nothing on the bottom. I showed the doctor and she said the top (LEU) is usually just skin cells and it's nothing to be concerned about and it's the nitrate result that matters. My daughter ended up not having a UTI and the doctor said these at home tests are usually pretty accurate

Very confusing.
I used this in the morning it showed pink right away like the second I peed on it. I went to the dr and they said I don’t have a uti ?? The test strip already looked tinted pink before I peed on it. So I tried it the next morning same thing pink again. Tried it in the after soon said normal but the purple on showed up??? So I’m pretty confused now as I went to the urgent care. But now I’m like what do I do now who’s right who’s wrong I’m so confused..

Feel the burn
At a time when I unfortunately don’t have health insurance and had this problem occur I am very few for this over the counter test . As you can see my strips are positive. Went in so the infection didn’t get worse after suffering for over 24 hours. Finally got an antibiotic. After one dose of course I’m not feeling better yet but I’m grateful.

The test wand did not change color at all, still off-white, no change from when dry. I would have assumed it would at east change to the "negative" test indicator color. Leave me unsure if the product works.

Meh
While easy to use, the results are sketch! I’ve bought two boxes and used one box all said positive, went to 2 urgent cares and both places said I’m negative! Fast forward 2 months later tried these again and still showed positive, only to waste time and $ to go to urgent care to find out yet again negative! So I wouldn’t bank on these!

The reviews that said “false” positive did not understand how to interpret the results. Positive for Leukocytes only (negative for Nitrate), is not a false positive for UTI. It clearly states to test again and consult physician. The only result that could really be interpreted as a false positive would be if the Nitrate was positive but then a UTI test at the doctor/urgent care was negative. Bottom line, don’t go on positive Leukocytes only. This test was super helpful for me. I’ve had a few UTIs before so familiar with the symptoms. It came back positive for both, I sent a picture to my PCP through the health portal, and they were able to send out an antibiotic without having to go into the office since they are familiar with my history. Saved time and money without an unnecessary trip to the dr or urgent care. These are meant to be used in collaboration with a physician who knows you and your history, not a standalone diagnostic tool. Hope this helps!

FALSE positive after urgent care negative
After I had a UTI and finished my full round of antibiotics, I took one of these tests to make sure it cleared. Came out positive. So I waited a week to test again in case it was too early to test after antibiotics. Positive again. I was worried that my UTI might progress to a kidney infection so I went back to urgent care. NEGATIVE. Just to test these Azo strips out and because I had one left in the pack, I tried another test immediately after my urgent care visit. POSITIVE. Will never buy again. Us ladies pretty much know when we have a UTI and don’t need these test strips…it’s best to just go straight to the doctor so you can get on antibiotics right away. (The photo shows what my test looked like 2 minutes after wetting the pads…looks positive to me. This was right after my urgent care showed negative.)

Peace of mind
Amazing money and time saver. Was feeling very mild symptoms, took two of these that both came back positive. Messages my doc, he got me on antibiotics and to the lab for a urine culture. Fast forward a week, took another test and it’s negative. Gives a lot of peace of mind, as UTI’s can become nasty is not handled correctly.

Not accurate
Bought these to check on my daughter who was having very mild symptoms. All three tests came back positive so I took her to the doctor - where their tests showed negative, no infection. I don’t feel like these were accurate, and were a waste of money.

Azo test turned out to be correct!
I am updating a review that I posted a few days ago. Here's why: The Azo test strip I used turned out to CORRECTLY indicate a possible UTI. (I followed directions for a "clean catch" and used 1st morning sample. I think that's helpful to pick up an infection) It came out positive/positive so I went to an urgent care for follow up. The urgent care clinic's test strip did NOT indicate an infection and I was told it wasn't likely that I had a UTI. Because I had mild symptoms, the sample was sent for a culture. Turns out the Azo test strip CORRECTLY picked up the infection as the culture came back with significant bacterial growth and I was then started on antibiotics. So I take back the negative review I posted--Azo test strip was accurate and helped me decide to see a doctor and request a culture.

Not as helpful as I hoped. I followed the easy directions and the test was positive/positive for both leukocytes & nitrites. Because that could indicate a UTI, I went to Urgent Care for a urinalysis, but that turned out to be negative. A culture was ordered to double check. So the test may be an unnecessary expense. If I have symptoms of a UTI again, I would skip purchasing a home test. Better to have a more reliable test.
