Some of Bogies most fun films
Are these great Cinematic efforts? Well not really, but four well done fun and action packed movies, from the Warner's film factory during the era surrounding World War II. These films are also jam packed with Warner's stars and supporting players of the era. Bogie, George Raft, Ann Sheridan, Peter Lore, Helmut Dantine, Raymond Massey, Ruth Gordon, Alan Hale sr. and so many more. "Passage to Marseilles" has Devils Island prisoners want to serve France in her time of need, so they escape and get on a French freighter to return to get into the War effort. But the free French skipper is removed by the pro-Vichy Sidney Greenstreet. "Action in the North Atlantic" puts Skipper Raymond Massey and first officer "Bogie" on the Bridge of a tanker and a Liberty ship to supply the allies with needed tools to defeat the Axis and avois the Uboat threat. They drive by night puts "Brother Truckers" "Bogie" and George Raft to action, adventure, tragedy, and love with Ann Sheridan. "Across the Pacific" is more war time propaganda, but still great fun. It puts "Bogie" and Mary Astor together again, with more wartime, action and adventure. The questions and the answers in this movie presents makes it fun to watch. Is "Bogie" a thief that is mustered out of the army, and now looking for another Military gig, or something else? Is Mary Astor a sales girl from a Canadian five and dime store? Is Greenstreet a man who settled in the east because he love it there, or something else? And is Hop Sing from "Bonanza", Victor Sen Yung, a jive talking hipster, out to help his family in the east, or something else? At this price I think you will have fun watching these 4 Films.
