This is exceptionally bland and watery. I guess this is from North Dakota, not especially a place one would expect a good salsa to come from so I don’t really know what I was expecting. I’m a Southern California girl and have high standards for slsa.

Not hot
I have had ketchup hotter than this. Don’t waste your money if you’re looking for hot salsa. This is not!

Horrible. Tastes like metal and has zero heat. Avoid at all costs.

The le croix of salsa. Taste like salsa sat next to water and absorbed almost no flavor.

Still a classic!
Love that you have a salsa from a restaurant in my hometown (Mexican Village in Grand Forks, ND). Sure it isn’t what most people would call very hot, but it still tastes amazing. Always fresh and still the same recipe

Hot? Not even mild
Maybe this is spicy for North Dakotans? It tastes more like plain tomato sauce than salsa. I’ll probably cook with it to improve it rather than waste it.

tasty salsa
I wouldn't necessarily call this salsa "hot" (it's more of a medium-spice salsa to me), but it does have a good flavor and pairs perfectly with tortilla chips! I also find that it works well in recipes.

I miss my Old Mexican Village Restaurant
I've been to the family owned Mexican Village at my home college town. It's not at all comparable to a typical salsa.. A whole different flavor. I love it. If you are looking for typical, this salsa is not it. I miss that restaurant but I am so glad thst I can get the salsa

Mislabeled? No flavor!
This salsa looked like it would taste fresh which is why I got it. However, there is absolutely no flavor whatsoever, let alone any sort of spice. I'm confused why it is labeled "hot" because it may be the most mild salsa I've ever had in my life. I have a decent spice tolerance but this does absolutely nothing. It literally just tastes like tomato puree. No seasoning or taste after that. I would avoid this salsa, it's honestly a shame, I was hopeful it would be at least decent.

Freshness is the only positive
I don't think village hot sauce knows the difference between spicy and spices. The salsa does have a good fresh taste at first, but that's instantly overwhelmed by massive amounts of cumin. And there's no spicy flavor to be found behind it.

North Dakota "Hot"
The "extra hot" is more a mild/medium. We enjoy the joke that anything above ketchup in North Dakota will be "hot". I grew up eating this salsa and now my kids enjoy it too!

North Dakota Extra Hot
The flavor and freshness, restaurant like. Extra hot is not literal, not that it's an issue. I've been eating this sauce since I was a kid. It's my fav fresh hot sauce to have with chips or in a burrito bowl. Add other hot sauce if you need heat. This is just right for a basic fresh salsa.
