The Very Hungry Caterpillar's Easter Colors (Board Book) (Eric Carle)

• it was a startling disappointment to see the “white”-color gradient actually gray-pink and the image that of a gray-silver lamb. But, with the characteristic stark white background, the color should probably have been called “Silver”. •Age is definitely 1-2, maybe 3 years. •A better title might be “Easter Friends”. •8 images, including non-color related Easter Bunny. The other 6 images are excellent examples of related color. • that an attempt was even made to include a lamb is commendable. Too bad about the mis-match of colors. • there are some better “proper” Easter books; but, there are also some that are disappointing.

This is a regular ol' colors book. It has nothing to do with Easter, only saying, "Happy Easter* on the final page. It feels like the Eric Carle and The Very Hungry Caterpillar brands were used to dupe parents in to buying this book. I am returning it. We already have plenty of "Hearts are red!", and "The sun is yellow!" books. There are better color-teaching and better Easter books out there.
