Amazing album, horrible sound quality.

Great artist, great selection of hits, absolutely horrible pressing of the album. I was super excited when I unpacked the records - they looked pristine. No warps, no smudges or scratches. Vinyl was in nice plastic sleeves instead of crappy paper. I cleaned my needle and started side A - wow the distortion is horrible! Not talking about Jimi's guitar either. The record skipped, just shocking. 2nd song not as bad but still not great. Side B, same thing. Horrendous distortion and skipping on 1st track, others bad but not as bad. I've been listening to vinyl for 30 years so I know it's not me or my gear. I have the tape of this so I know what it should sound like. Sending this one back.
