We have very high standards for our suppliers and require the product to be handled in the same manner as food for human consumption would be handled. Shepherd loves these bones and they are reasonably prices. But, they are risky. They splinter into long shards that could be unsafe. If your dog is an aggressive chewer, keep a close eye.

Great bone, but no filling half the time.
My dog loves these bones.... IF they are actually filled with marrow. 80% of the time when buying these bones, they come with no filling. You'll want to check these before buying to make sure you buying one with filling!

Paw Love Big & Beefy Marrow Bone Review
The bone shattered into multiple sharp pieces within a couple of minutes of my dog having it. My dog is a lab, so maybe it's not fit for large breeds. If your dog is even remotely an aggressive chewer, I'd stay away from this bone. Also, I was disappointed there was hardly any marrow in the bone. Overall, my dog liked the flavor of the bone, but with it breaking apart almost immediately after giving it to her, I had to throw it in the trash.

Used bone???
I bought three of these and two came perfect. There’s a bag that you tear the top off then, another plastic casing around the bone. One of my bags was intact but there was no plastic casing and the marrow in the middle was gone?? It literally was a used bone packaged regularly?? I do not recommend these because that just feels like contamination of some sort.

I'd love to also add with our Marrow Bones we do not individually wrap every bone (so it is likely all bones will not have the additional wrapping in the future as we're completely phasing out the individually wrapping), and our marrow bones are %100 natural meaning some bones just won't have the marrow inside them, while others have some or a full bone of marrow. We can assure you there is no contamination as we hand inspect each item before it leaves our building.

Dog loves and it can spend forever gnawing on it
I’ve got a large dog that gnaws through most bones in less than an hour. If he’s chewing on elk antler it’ll last a day. It’s been two days and he still hasn’t even finished with the marrow. He just keeps licking at it and trying to get to it. I would definitely recommend this one.

My dogs love them - watch your dog while they chew
My dogs love these bones but you need to watch your dog while they’re chewing it because as mentioned in other reviews pieces can break off. When that happens I throw away the piece that broke off and let my dog chew the remaining bone. We’ve given our dogs these bones for years and had no problems. Again - just watch your dog when they’re chewing it.

The new brand is not safe. They splinter very badly. Cost me a lot of money in vet bills.

Drop in quality, dangerous
We used to LOVE giving these to our golden! But in the last few months these have dropped in quality like crazy. Each bone splits in half, has a dangerous second piece connected to the bone, etc. such a disappointment. We’ll be looking for a new brand.

Warning!
I gave this to my 6month old goldendoodle and this broke off 6 mins after giving this to her..this is sharp bone fragments that could injure them..just happy I didn’t leave her alone with it.

Yes, It is possible for any chew to crack/splinter depending on the force of the dog chewing. We always recommend supervision with any treat/chew and to remove small or broken pieces to prevent any potential choking hazard. Please be mindful of your pet's age, health, and current diet conditions when selecting products. So glad they enjoyed the bones.
