Is this thing actually making my system sound better? I've heard that switches can potentially adversely affect sound quality. My experience with this unit is quite the opposite. Very impressed with the sound and construction. The connection points are challenging to work with, but not nearly as bad as other reviewers make it out to be. One note: for some reason, when the zone knobs are dialed all the way up, right channel sound disappears on each zone. This is only at the absolute highest setting, which you probably should not be doing anyways.

Let me down big time when I was 2 hours away from civilization. 1 speaker worked out of 6 I had hooked. Switched to anther one and it worked

Works great. I wish each channel had it had 2 LEDs - one that indicates if the speaker is on or not, and another that indicates if the input channel is A or B. It would then also be nice to have a button that could turn on or off all LED indicators as well, so it could still be dark if required.

Works great!
Coupled with MP volume controller on each.of the 3 pair of outside speakers. No more having to.go to main amp to control volume. Volume controller and 4 Channel Selector is a winning.combination

Simple to set up. Some reviews mentioned the difficulty in inserting the speaker wire, but I didn't find it to be an issue with 14 gauge wire.

Good job of passively providing music to four different zones (same source)...but the speaker wire you would have to use is so small in order to insert them into the box (maybe 1/8" of striped wire) before trying to take a precision screwdriver and clamp it down. Just NOT enough actual wire to try and tighten down on. As soon as you put any moderate stress on the cable, it comes out. They have plenty of space for larger and more spread out inputs/outputs. What a shame that nicely built and handsome box has such crap for speaker cables! Disappointing design!!!!!

I begin this review with the fact that after spending significant time and effort, I have yet to hear any speakers through this should-be easy to hook up speaker splitter. The holes to accept speaker wire are way too small and close together as to render the connections too difficult for anyone trying to use any-sized or shaped connector other than something that will end in a single circumfrance no larger than a pin! I expect I will try to pre-wire three sets of short length lighter gauge wire and then splice with wire nuts. Come on Monoprice, we expect better products from you!

Using for speakers in garage stereo. Zones 1 and 2 are inside, zone 3 at horseshoe pits, and zone 4 on the deck. Now I can choose which speakers are on and when. Works like just like it's supposed to.
