U Brands® 4 count U-Eco™ Gel Click Recycled Pastel Speckle Pens are a great way to keep the environment in mind while fulfilling those writing needs. At U Brands® we are looking for ways to be kinder to the planet. That is why we have created U-Eco™, a line of sustainable writing instruments. We want to provide the option for a better looking, better performing pen that is also better for the environment. By using renewable and reclaimed wheat straw we reduce the amount of plastic in our pens, lowering our carbon footprint and reducing plastic waste.

    Wanted to like but disappointed in quality

    I really wanted to like this pens… cute colors and eco-friendly! However I’m not sure if I got a bad batch or not because the dried out so fast. I always clicked them closed and used them briefly but managed to go through a whole pack in 2 months. I only used them approx 10-15 minutes a day to take notes on a podcast I’m following. The ink would stop flowing when there was still ink visible in the pen. I also couldn’t get a good grip on the pen due its beveled edges and no grip. Definitely do not recommend especially if you have dexterity or hand grip issues.

    Smooth, but surprisingly short ink life.

    Overall, I’d give the U Brands U-Eco pens about a 3.5 out of 5. The ink is dark, smooth and consistent, with no skipping, and it lays down clean, thin lines. Writing with them actually feels nice, especially for longer sessions. The biggest drawback is how fast the ink runs out. One pen lasts roughly 15 pages for me, though that’s just a rough estimate since I take a lot of notes and journal pretty often. Even when I rotated between multiple pens, they were already running dry by the end of first quarter. The barrel itself is cute and feels sturdy, but the short ink life makes them pricey to keep replacing. If you care most about smooth writing and aesthetics, these are a solid choice. Just keep in mind that ink longevity might be an issue.

    Run out of ink fast

    Dont buy! Can not refill!

    DONT BUY!! Can’t refill pens. If you ask customer service from Ubrand, they basically tell you to buy more pens, which defeats the purpose of being eco friendly. What a waste. Shame on this company for false advertising. Real eco friendly companies would offer refills so you’re not causing more waste.

    Would Not Buy Again

    I never leave reviews, but these pens call for one. They are cute, but they smudge and goop up (I’m a lefty, so that definitely doesn’t help). I also find them incredibly scratchy. They also run out of ink fast. I finished one pen in three weeks taking notes for my job. Additionally, these don’t seem eco friendly as it’s difficult to find ink cartridges.
