Great Series Conclusion!

This final book in the Brides of Hope Mountain series is like icing on a cake. The other two books were wonderful stories but Her Secret Song wraps up the saga of the Nordegren sister in a totally satisfying way! I enjoyed getting to know Ilsa and Jo but author Mary Connealy truly saved the best sister for last. Ursula is the oldest and stubbornest Nordegren but she is also the loneliest. Will she remain on Hope Mountain or will she decide that she needs something more? Is Ursula destined to live a life of solitude or is there someone waiting to share it with her? Her Secret Song is a thrilling adventure set in 1874 Colorado and Connealy perfectly captures the beauty of this dangerous and isolated terrain. Ursula's desire to remain on Hope Mountain is understandable and her reliance on God is very admirable, and it is this love for God and nature that helps Wax Mosely to find his own faith-walk. And finally, Ursula is given a glimpse of romantic love. Her Secret Song has laugh-out-loud moments, thrilling adventure, and a wonderful faith message. I recommend it to all who enjoy historical Christian romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and publisher. I was not required to give a favorable review. All opinions are my own.

Book Review--"Her Secret Song" by Mary Connealy Brides of Hope Mountain--#3 This is another wonderful story weaved by Mary Connealy, that you won't want to miss reading especially if you have read the first two books in this series, but even if you haven't you would still enjoy. This book is filled with drama, humor, and sweet romance as all three Nordegren sisters join in the fight to save the Warden ranch, each using their own unique skills they have learned from living on Hope Mountain. If you have read the first two books in this Brides of Hope Mountain series, "Aiming For Love" and "Woman Of Sunlight", you will find this last book in the series most delightful. It contains all the wonderful characters that we grew to love in the previous books, but treats us to watch the wonderful transformation of Ursula, the eldest sister, as she happens to find freedom from her fears and romance n a quite unlikely way. Ursula, living alone through the long winter atop Hope Mountain, faces a loneness so deep that she is willing to step out and face the fears she has lived with her whole life. As she prepares to descend the mountain and face the outside world, she comes upon an injured man, Wax Mosby, who has been a hired gunslinger for most of his life, a man considered very dangerous, yet now helpless and facing death if Ursula doesn't help him. Ursula believing God sent her here to find this man and help him, has no idea how much her decision will change her life forever. This story will captivate you all the way until the end, in fact the ending is the sweetest part of the whole series! I was given a copy of this book by the author's publisher, Bethany House, in exchange for an honest review, all comments are my own.
Her Secret Song

Ursula Nordegren was raised on Hope Mountain with her younger sisters, Jo and Ilsa, by their grandparents after their parents went down the mountain and never returned. They had quite a few years on their own after their grandparents died. Raised with a mistrust of outsiders and a fear of going down the mountain, Ursula retreats to a lonely stone shelter when her sisters marry the Warden brothers, whose family has "invaded" their mountain when their ranch below came under siege. After a long lonely winter, Ursula decides to draw upon her faith and courage to venture down to see Jo and Dave, singing on the way since it has been a way of life for her, especially singing the scriptures. She comes across a badly wounded man who had been shot and fell a considerable distance into trees. With her blonde hair and lovely voice, he thinks she is an angel. Ursula helps him the considerable distance back to her house, which is no small feat considering his injuries. Anyone who has read the first two books in this series might think it is rather strange that Wax Mosby would be a good match for Ursula. It is interesting to read of his reformation to being a better man and Ursula's journey of self-discovery. Of course, there is plenty of action as the Wardens work to regain their ranch. I appreciated the epilogue that wrapped up the series very nicely. It is always so fun to read a book by Mary Connealy. They always make me smile. I received a complimentary copy of Her Secret Song. All thoughts are my own.
So Unique!

I could not wait to get my hands on this book! Her Secret Song was long anticipated and Mary Connealy didn’t let me down. After reading the first book in this series, “Aiming for Love”I fell in love with the world that Connealy created. The Nordegren sisters were so unlike any characters I had met before. Living their whole lives on a mountain and afraid of what might lie below, they lived sheltered lives and only relied on each other. But when strangers invade their little world, they have no choice but to adapt. In this novel we focus on the eldest sister, Ursula. Deathly afraid of disease and the bad things the world below brings, she finds herself isolated in her own little house of stone. Being trapped alone all winter might drive anyone crazy, and most would say Ursula was there to begin with. I loved watching her fight to grow and go beyond what she ever thought possible. When she runs across an injured Wax, their whole interaction is one of a kind. I loved watching them get to know each other, and learn even more about themselves along the way. I couldn’t get enough of their chemistry, and hope to visit Hope Mountain again someday. This book kept me turning pages way too late into the night. I loved everything about the interactions between the sisters and their respective husbands. I was so excited to see how Ursula would turn out. The battle over the Warden Ranch was a fun one to watch. Each family member is so unique and I can’t imagine how Connealy came up with so much details. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a book unlike any other. I couldn’t guess what could possibly happen next, and enjoyed every moment of it. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I totally recommend you read all three. I have a feeling you will love the sisters just as I do, and you’ll want to know them as much as possible. I received a copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers and was in no way forced to post a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Taking a Chance!

Ursula, who was raised by her grandparents isolated in the mountains, has come face to face with a battered and bruised man, Wax, who needs her help to survive. Tired of her hermit ways, she decides to nurse him back to health. Just as Wax improves, her two sisters with their husbands show up. They insist they must go to the lowlands to protect themselves from killers and thieves--despite being outnumbered and out gunned. Except Ursula has never been off the mountain, and she was told all her life she would die if she left. So begins an exciting yarn set in the 1870's. There will be the plans of two different bad guys that need to be overcome, hilarious miscommunications and situations between the men and the mountain women, along with an exciting showdown. Different threads from many circumstances end up coming together for an exciting finale. Murder and robbery, along with talk of God's love and angel's songs pepper the pages! This rousing tale will keep you glued to it until the end of the story. This is the third installment in a series, but can be understood by itself. But do yourself a favor, and read the other two for pure enjoyment. I highly recommend this 5-star book to those who like clean, exciting stories with a dash of humor and romance. Bethany House Publishers, through NetGalley, has provided Tickmenot with a complimentary copy of, Her Secret Song, for the purpose of review.
